Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing?
Regarding all of reality.
An interesting question regard enigma. There enters discussion between deductive, inductive, and abductive reasoning. For interest there is a proposed theory of equilibrium by Jack McNally. At his website discussed is something is created. It contrasts principle and process. The discussion centers on Existence ex Nihilo.
How can the absence of something be something? You can't discuss Nothing, because there is nothing to discuss.
This is the subtitle from an interesting book: A Universe From Nothing written by the well known scientist Lawrence M Krauss.
He writes in his book how it is the natural way of things that from nothing something/matter comes into being.
Particles pop out of existence all the time and then they surface again. It is a strange state that has been detected by quantum mechanica measurements. They are called virtual particles. Virtual particles are manifestations of a basic property of quantum systems. And these virtual particles can in the end become real particles and thus matter.
The book is clearly written and tells you why we live in a universe with matter and how something can come from nothing. You can also find on youtube seminars given by Lawrence M. Krauss where he explains how this is possible.
If you are interested in how our universe came into being and how it developed, this is one is highly recomendable. (beside Stephen Hawking) This book will give a clear answer to your question.
In science the is no such thing as nothing. For example you look at an empty glass and it is empty so yo say to yourself nothing is in it, but that's not true. There is oxygen, nitrogen, along with any particles that are in the room. There is always something rather than nothing because even in a molecular level no matter where you are there is always something there.
just because you can not see it does not mean nothing is there.

Hey anybody,I feel like these particular verses have been received poorly. I'm trying to describe the validity of imagination. I'm trying to say that, even if it's in our heads, it still exists in our heads. And what's in our heads is our heads. Our mind, our soul, goes to a subjective after-life,...

Whether your view is religious or scientific. And if you think the Universe is a steady state(as in, has no beginning or end),then try to explain that instead. Thank you.

The argument usually goes:1. All that begins to exist has a cause.2. The universe began to exist.3. Therefore, the universe has a cause.4. If the universe has a cause, it must be timeless and spaceless.5. God fits that description most effectively.6. Therefore,...

I have been pondering lately the idea that God is energy. Now, of course God is energy. But, somehow lately I have begun to see this fact in a new way. I think all matter is a creation of God. So, why wouldn't I see God as an energy? Well, lately it seems there is a secret bit of God that is inside...

Does any sane person believe that humanity has learned all there is to learn about the universe? I sincerely doubt it. Yet when unbelievers dismiss as impossible those things which superficially appear incompatible with our current understanding of the universe (e.g. the existence of a "spirit...
