You know I look around me, I see the blind, crippled, mentally handicapped, those very less fortunate than myself indeed, and it reminds me how lucky I am to be born the way I was. I feel so sorry for these people, yet still so many of them have adjusted or don't know any different, and are happy in life.
I am happy to be me, to walk, talk, see the beauty of the rainbow in the sky, to have my whole arms and fingers to embrace the ones I love. To hear the sweet sound of a wonderous song, to run in the fields of daffodils.
Let angels nurture those who are not able to do so. smile smile

I've been skipping this thread since it's been up, but after having a terrible ear ache for the last three days (and finally having it stop), I'm in the mood to think about "happy".

Being with my kids, of course.
    Flowers.
    Music.
    Laughing with a friend.
Having coffee alone, or with a friend, at an outdoor table.
A certain type of Spring or Summer air (usually mornings or nights - seldom afternoons, unless it's raining).
This one's far from original, but mauve sunsets and sunrises.
A new tech gadget, preferably one that I like the looks of.
    The ocean.
    Usually, writing.
    Breakfast out.
My own coffee when I get it right.
A big lump of money (sorry, but it's true - although, in fairness to me, it's low on the list   lol  )

Oh, and not having an ear infection or other incredibly miserable health issue.   smile

It makes me happy when I see people doing something nice for someone else, just because they want to.
It makes me happy to hear my kids in their room carrying on a 'pretend' adult conversation-it also makes me happy when they say, "I Love You Mamma".

It makes me happy when my husband walks through the front door-and puts his arms around me and hugs me for at least 30sec-and before he lets go-kisses me on the forehead and says I love you.

I get ECSTATIC when my husband says, "don't worry about the kids I will change diapers, give baths, make dinner, feed kids-rebath them and put them to bed before I prepare all thier stuff for tomorrow" while he mainains a caring sincere smile...
Oh wait----I am having a hallucination, haha big_smile, but I guess with all that said, a great hallucination can make me pretty happy big_smile

hapieness is a very funny thing.  If it is even a thing.  I feel that sometimes we trick ourselves into being happy and other times we simply reach a state of happieness.  The seacond obviously being better for mental health pourpouses.  Like going for a run makes me happy but only when the run is over.  But arent the endorphines just making me Happy because their almost acting as an opiate?  I feel like my own body is tricking me into a state of happieness.  Lets face it most of life is just suffering.  Happieness like the chemicals are brain releases are just temporary states of beings.  Sorry if i sound cynical.

My family is the first to come in the list, followed by friends, work, and travel. My daughter never fails to make me happy, just that smile on her face is just the best after all the stress you've been through after a long day at work :-)
