http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_UYTQ3MEE8LQ/Sjh2djBIXHI/AAAAAAAABxg/Ip8_gGYkwug/s400/RobinHood.jpgOne of my techniques for finding new keyword strings and niches involves noticing obvious SPAM when I travel through the internet.

This started by getting annoyed with all the Akismet notifications in the my email account for my own websites. I was always annoyed that I even had to spend 3 seconds to deny these gibberish comments.

So I began to keep a google doc where I would paste the anchor text of the Spam comment - eventually I take a look through and see if there is any hidden gold.

With that same attitude, I will occasionally jump through the hubhopper if some piece of bltatnt SPAM exists and i have to spend 3 seconds to mark it as such...well then I copy the keywords as I figure they dont deserve them.

So i have all these keywords! and nowhere near the time or inclination to check them all..

Why not give them away? ( i cant bear to part with all of them yet) but I figured I could get it started:

So next time your hopping through the hubs in the hub hopper - paste some strings into a notepad as you clean up shop and share them with the group!

    Things to look for -

The same bolded term throughout the hub especially in the first sentence.

    Misspelled or fully capitalized titles

Odd formatting (a likely copy and paste)

    Gibberish (Spun or translated material)

You have to figure the "writer" had some purpose in selecting those keywords, hopefully there stupidity only exists in the content creation department..

so clean up Hubpages and redistribute the keyword possibilities...

so waddya think , are you in?

PS. after lots of reminders and emails, Ive been spurred to start a second 60dc, i want to mix it up and make it a bit different this time ...no official start date, but I strongly suggest collecting about 30-50 keywords/strings you may want to consider developing

    Todays finds:

    wedding photography packages

    Administrative Office Vacancy

    Web Content Creation

    kitchen Remodeling Ideas

    Baseball Carpets (wtf?)

    ------------------------------

*I just found them - no research into profitability or competition should be assumed*

    ------------------------------

    youth sleeping bag

    mini circular saw

    bicycle child carrier

    (more likely to be profitable)

all over the internet marketing world, hubpages is known as a great place to put content as part of a link strategy - wouldnt it be great if all those suggestions were followed by "be careful though, the members will flag your blatant spam and may even steal your niche by writing better more high quality articles with your keywords!"

Little John: You know something Robin, I've been wondering... are we good guys or bad guys? You know, our robbing the rich to feed the poor.
Robin Hood: Rob? Tsk tsk, that's a naughty word John, we never rob. We just sort of... borrow from those who can afford it.
Little John: Borrow? Boy, are we in debt!

Nah, I wouldn't write about essay writing services for students. I don't believe in enabling cheaters. tongue Based on the number of spammers babbling about them in comments on one of my blogs, though, it must be a lucrative niche!

I like the idea of keeping some of the spammers keywords. They're obviously using those keywords for a reason...

Great idea sunforged, I did something similar not long ago. I kept getting emails everyday from the same companies promoting similar goods and services, I then noticed they had ads all over the place, I researched the market and hubbed on it. Low and behold it's now one of my best performing hubs. smile

    Sheesh, Sunforged. Brilliant as always.

I wasn't ever that great at math, but I understand music theory better than most anyone I know, and it's all math. Go figure. But on multiple choice math exams (of which I had plenty) I plugged the answers into the equation until I got the right one. It helped me learn the concepts better by doing it in reverse than by doing it as a set up equation.

My point is, your dredging through spam and such is very reminiscent of this sort of thinking. The alternate route is often a golden route.

    Kudos, and thanks!

My contribution (oddly--for the purpose of helping to clean up all the spam...)

    - Military travel specialist
    - buy drugs online - particularly Cialis, Viagra
    - Age Management Medicine (the discipline, not the drugs)
    - Heart disease: causes and treatment options

Seems like a great time to resurrect. Since flagging and spam killing is the rage right now, keep something in mind. A flagged hub doesnt mean much to someone who just spun it anyway. Even an
account ban is circumvented with a simple Ip switch - BUT having your niche and money terms exposed and attacked by an army of Hubbers - thats scary - and the word could spread.

Those bastards at HP - crushed my Hub and then wrote better articles knocking my money site to page 4 .. thats the type of rep you need to spread

    todays finds:

    Pay Per Click Management:
pagoda lantern  ( i know this is a decent niche from experience)
    canon photocopier
    Golf Cart Enclosures
    Garage Cabinets and Garage Storage

observation - much of the obvious spam is from users who never even put up a profile pic, that should be added as a requirement to publish
