Click values

   While I'm now getting enough clicks to keep me happy (most of the time, anyway ) the value of the clicks seems low to me.  While I've had a few of around a dollar, the vast majority of my clicks are under .40 and a few are worth nothing
   
   What's a reasonable average for click value?  Am I building hubs around keywords that are simply too low in value and should look for higher paying words, or is .25 - .50 reasonable?  What's your experience here?

      I wouldn't be dissapointed at all to be honest. My clicks are around .25$, I have never had one over 35 cents.

         Cordale, if you're getting clicks after only 2 weeks, you're doing much better than I did at that point!  It took me over a month to get even one click.  Well done, and thanks for the answer.

      Don't worry too much, Wilderness.
      
      The click values may be less, depending on what country the reader of your article resides in.
      
      Also, if they don't interact much with the web ad they clicked on, and click away within seconds, you get less money per click.  Naturally, you can't control this.
      
      The highest one I ever got was about $2.18.  And many of mine are far less than that -- typically around 0.25.

      Good stuff, still. I have had clicks worth $4.40 down to $.01. (Actualy saw an eCMP last month of $49.50 which turned out to be worth the $4.40 after all was said and done).
      but it is a good idea to check the CTR (Click Through Rate) to see how long people keep the ad window open and your stats here on HP to see how long folks stay on your article page.
      
      If you are looking for high value clicks or ad prices, the best thing to do is decide what category your article falls into, then select the keywords for it. I found a few useful websites that give you the numbers. (high value ads don't always produce high click rates). Keywords with a lot of competition, tend to be lower because there are more ads competing for that keyword.

   I don't think there is anything wrong with those click values, to be honest most of mine are lower than that.

   Me too, sometimes it is much lower than yours, click makes me happy and specially if they read my hubs. In my little ways my hubs help people (I hope my hubs are helpful)

      well my clicks are highly unpredictable..sometimes one click would bring me results which 20 clicks would some other day

   Thisisole, Pretty - thanks for the reassurance.  If that's about normal, then I won't worry about it.  And yes, Pretty, my traffic is increasing.  It's been neat to watch as it goes up 25% - 40% (according to the email from HP) each week.  I suppose sometime the rate of increase will slow down, but it has way more than doubled each month so far.  Fun, and fun to see where they're coming from and neat to think I'm actually helping a few of the people that read.
   
   Pisean, you're sure right about it unpredictable - they vary all over the place don't they?  Even the origin of a click often amazes me - somebody clicked on that hub???

      That's a positive development. In my case, sometimes number of views are much lower but adsense increase, it really depends on whether people will click and value of the click, but then again when many people read our hubs it is great,
      
      I can see that your hubs are of quality too, so don't worry, you're getting there sooner than you think too! Take care..

         Oh shoot!  I was 100 just yesterday and early this morning!  I'll never figure out how that changes.  During the week I do almost nothing on HP (too much time at work for my own good!) and it often goes to 100.  Then I write a hub or hit the forums and it drops.   
         
         Yes, you can never tell when people will click.  My CTR over time has been a pretty steady average, but day to day figures vary wildly - one day was 10%!  Of course there are still some days with 0% so it makes up for the big numbers.   As traffic increases to statistically meaningful numbers each day the CTR will probably even out as well, but it's fun to see a great big number now.

            oh 100, Congrats then again, yeah you're right when I am starting to publish again, my score is 95 before it hovers from 98, 96 like that, I cant figure it out, it is the biggest puzzles for all of us ---

               Pretty much a puzzle, all right.  I just smile when I notice it's up and ignore it.  I can't seem to affect it, so I don't worry about it.  Thanks for the congrats, though.
               
               Yep, just keep writing and enjoying.  That's what it's about, after all.

   I've had a few clicks between $2.50 and $3, and I regularly get clicks that are around $1.  But about half of my clicks are 30 cents or less.
