Help Me List Items You Can Buy to "Treat Yourself"

   I've been on a path of discovery for awhile now and one of the things I've discovered about myself is that I'm very much a nurturer.  In this mothering role, I tend to put others' needs before my own and over time begin to resent others for it.  In an effort to begin taking better care of myself I spent a month buying myself small items to remind myself how important I am.  I would like help thinking of treats I could buy or find that are inexpensive and not food related.  I'm trying to stay away from food-related treats. 
   
   An example to get you started....
   
   Magazine subscription (I like this one becaue I get an automatic "reminder" every month for a year)
   
   Book mark
   
   Used book
   
   New pen

      Why stick to things you can buy?  Often the thing we give least to ourselves is time.
      
      I'd buy the bath robe and candles Frog suggested.  Then I'd follow it up with a towelling head wrap, a face mask, some nice moisturizer, whatever bath goodies you like and treat yourself to an at-home spa experience.

         Aye, time. Sometimes I jump in the car and nip to a small continental cafe about three miles away. I order an espresso, a small cake and sit outside, reading. It costs me about £2.50 and I'm always the better for having gently while away 45 minutes

         I agree with you totally!  In fact, I'd rather come up with things I don't have to spend money on! 
         
         I like your idea about the home spa experience.  I did buy myself some Burt's Bee's foot creme that I put on my feet just before bed.

   Well KCC here's a few items off my list:
   
   A book light
   A nice bath robe
   Candles
   Little pieces of costume jewelry
   A bolster pillow
   DVD's
   Boofles (Google it lol)
   Scarves - both decorative and winter woolly types
   
   
   Just a few ideas of things I like but never seem to buy

   What a nice idea KCC.  Here are some ideas and they don't all require money -
   some nice perfumed candles
   bath crystals (if you like to take a bath)
   some flowers from your garden (or a shop if you don't have one)
   take yourself out for a nice coffee/movie or similar
   an hour relaxing in a nice garden with a good book
   a walk in a forest

      More great ideas!  Taking a scenic drive would fit in there too!
      
      You mentioning buying flowers reminded me of buying small outdoor decorations for the porch, like windchimes, etc.  I love to sit out on my front porch and listen to my windchimes.

            lol....I've known people that don't like them.  I love them.  However, I'm a bit picky about them.  The ones I have are tuned.  The melodies created are beautiful.

      People watching is fun anytime!  I might have to head to the mall and walk around.  I love to watch people there.

   During that 30 days I did buy some classic 80s movies like "Pretty in Pink", "The Breakfast Club", etc. and enjoyed movie night with my daughter.
   
   I also bought a few books.  A good book is actually what started me on that journey in the first place.
   
   I might try a picnic for one.

   For myself it is always a book. I love Nora Roberts and wait for her next one impatiently but just finished  "The Passage" by a new author I havent read before, Justin Cronin/very interesting turn on a vampire theme/unfortunately did not end well/Nora Roberts ALWAYS ends well lol
