If God is love, doesn't that mean he doesn't hate?

   hate is not vice, if there is love then there be hate. contradiction is what makes the universe what it is, night and day, love and hate , sun and moon , river and land, man and woman, liquid and solid, hot and cold, mountains and valleys, high and low, heaven and earth, good and evil. can you imagine a universe without contradiction.
   
   therefore, it is not the word "hate" that is the problem, but where you direct it to. God "hates". the direction of his hatrage is evil. therefore God hates evil. you can only justify your "hates" if it follows God's direction

            It means with our very limited intellect we can't sit in judgment about the contradictions existing in creation, sustenance and destruction which are the three activities of God according to Hinduism.

                  If you ignore the "neurotic and psychotic nature" of such of those portions of bible, you will still find true gems in store for you, if only you delve deep. For that, too much reliance on the intellect must be ridden. "I sincerely don't know; I don't understand; I want to really understand. If millions of people draw spiritual inspiration from bible,  then there must be something in it. I want to explore it earnestly (not "earnesthub"ly!)" - if you read with this attitude, perhaps you too will start finding the gems.
                  
                  Perhaps reading scripture from other religions too may help. I have read somewhere some Christian spiritualists saying that reading the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna helped them in understanding Bible better.

      Which god would that be? The biblical one who sends people to rot in hell and destroyed it's own creation in a fit of rage?........Or the one that cuts off bits of people till they die or stones them to death?
      You can learn not to hate. To big a job for the fairy I guess.

   unfortunately 'god is love' theory applies as long as religious belief is adhered to..once a person tries to question that belief in any system..love vanishes..and when many person question that group is being ridiculed or threaten..history is full with it...now love cannot be conditional..right..even if i hate god,HE has to love me under any circumstances..religious god doesnot seem to have that standard of love...
