Amazon is really streaky isn't it?

   Well once again I am celebrating another milestone(well 2, or 3)! I have pretty much 1 more milestone that I am going to have to post for(very soon). Then I promise I won't post one for a while!!! I think
   
   I started getting my first sales in Novemeber, where I felt was a really good start. I had accumulated a good chunk of change around $50, then sadly December was not really the same. I had only gotten $22 for the month. That left me at $72, at one point I was ahead of Adsense on Amazon.
   
   From since 10 days before Christmas Amazon has been pretty much stagnant. I had sold 2 items making me around $1. I knew it was directly related to the holidays, and I am expecting everyone's amazons to do better. I actually have money to spend right now, and so do many other people.
   
   Anyways Yesterday I had my best day BY FAR, EVER here!!!
   
   I woke up to my Amazon saying $46 last night!!! I thought to myself, why is it showing me last quarters? So I changed it and the number stayed!! So I rubbed my eyes a couple times and went to see what I sold.
   
   A 1080P tv!!! I also sold 3 more items that have yet to ship. I could be expecting anywhere from $5-$15 from that depending on if the books are used. Not to mention 2 days ago was my best adsense day of $7! AND today I broke my $100 on Amazon!

      Congratulations, the short drop in sales just before Christmas is not too unusual, think of shipping times for the reason.

   Glad you had a great day. I myself had a good Dec. with Amazon. Yet I have not had a single sale from them since Christmas.

      Yeah, it certainly is a wild card, and is not a fluke. They can be happening more and more often, if you really work at it, it won't just be random. That is what I am waiting for.

   Congrats! I too had a pretty poor month in December for Amazon compared to some of the previous months. I was starting to give up on Amazon but already for January, I'm off to a really good start again. Must be so exciting to sell a TV!

   Yeah it's really streaky that's for certain, or it might be that getting that "golden" customer is what is streaky about it.  For me Christmas was exactly that, "Christmas".  Since I sell a few items each day, but it won't ever be the same until Christmas returns to HubPages.  In the meantime, sell where you can and keep writing.

   Congrats! I'll look at your Hubs to see what you're writing. I continue using Amazon but I've still only made 36 cents last Feb.
   
   I don't get it. I realize most of my Hubs are geared only for Adsense but I've got some clear product Hubs that generate regular traffic and nothing in Amazon sales.
   
   My most recent Hubs I'm including links to other sites and not just Amazon. But glad to hear about your success.

    It's pretty neat when Amazon suddenly hits.  Until Nov. I had never made over about $5 a month, then Nov came in at nearly $90!  And one December morning I found I'd sold over $900 worth of power tools, probably to just one buyer.  It put me at nearly $150 for the month!!!
    
    It's been dead since then, though, with just 5 sales, books and such - cheap. 
    
    Take heart - it will grow again as the holidays fade.

    how do you do it?  I mean, do you pass out "buy from Amazon via my hubs" cards? or do you have an Amazon store you link to in all your hubs?  Or did you just hit on niche items that everybody is eager to buy?  or do you talk your friends into using your Amazon ads as entry to buy the stuff they want?  cuz I could use some cash like you'all are talking about

       mega1, go study the Hubs of the people who have posted here. Maybe "study" is too big a word and unnecessary. I've had trouble with Amazon although I do well with Adsense. But Amazon would be product-oriented Hubs with lots of choices. Check out Bill Manning's Hubs here ... also Nellie Hoxie even though she didn't post in this forum. It's real simple ... maybe that's why it's tough for me! LOL!

       If I knew how I did it I'd be making a lot more money.. No Amazon store. No backlinking, no good hubs. How I'm doing it is beyond me.
       
       My thought process is, as long as my page is out there and it has an Amazon link, who knows. It doesn't hurt having them on there, and it only takes 1 click to make any amount of money.
       
       If someone is rich, and really likes me, they can click on my Amazon links, buy stuff and support me, that's pretty cool. You never know, this stuff is always going to be out there.

    I earn a lot on Amazon, and the trick is definitely in targetting keywords that attract sales.  I also tentatively ran an Adwords campain this Christmas for one of my amazon targetted websites and had quite a nice payout because of it.
    
    I have been doing a lot of alarge scale IM work for one of my clients recently, so it has kind of pushed me in that directiona  little more over SEO (Though that will always be my one true love).

    Congratulations!  It always feels good to see a big number in your affiliate stats.  I have always had a hard time making sales with Amazon.  For some reason it just converts a lot worse than ebay sales.  I'm not exactly sure why because I didn't think that more people buy from ebay than Amazon.  Maybe it's just the products that people find on my pages.  Anyway, keep up the good work.
