The more you try to be different ,,,  than THEM! ...
the more like them you become.

Hey Pisean, doesn't it depend on how well one knows themselves? hmm

It's not a matter of trying to be different.
It's about being yourself. Be who you are, and let "the chips fall, as they may".
At the end of the day, not everyone is going to like you. I can guarantee it!

        That is exactly right!

But that is difficult to do without seeing someone that you do not want to be like and making too much of an effort to be different than.
Polar oposits can have the same affects upon its enviroment.

Or something like that ... sorta.

      Huh?
I don't find that to be true.
But then, I'm not sure what you're talking about specifically.
      Anyway...

        Howdy Brenda

I should apologize to everyone for being so sporatic when it comes to answering in a timely basis. (spending time in forums)

Been real busy starting everything all over again.

           ????

I'm just saying that it seems to me that the more we attempt to NOT be like everyone else the more we are like them, but in  a different way.

The more we HATE something; the easier it is to be consumed by it.

           Kinda like rebelling against rebellion.
           Wageing war against war mongers.
Spanking a kid for hitting some other kid ?

The greater we try to be different the more we become the same.

aka-dj  stated it correctly earlier ...  and if and when we do that...  that is a good thing!  But that is much harder to do that it sounds like.
If everyone could just do that, honestly; their own lives would be such a better place for themselves.

I have always always been true to God first and true to myself. It doesn't always please others that I am this way, especially bosses, but I don't care.

That is good.  But I must ask;  is there anything that you hate?   If so then there is something that has power over you.
Speaking figuratively.  Not directed at "You" personally.

Jerami: There are only things I hate. One is stupidity, and the other is disappointing Almighty God.

The first, stupidity I can try and correct, and the second I do my best to avoid.

            You can't disappoint God.

He knows the end from the beginning, and your very thoughts and intents.
If anyone is going to be disappointed, it will most likely be yourself. Once you see who you were meant to be, but didn't quite make it. hmm

Well, that's how I see it, at least. big_smile

              YEP   you are right!
Disregard my earlier comment (the last one)   but it still kinda makes a little sense in its own little, cut disapointing way.

Well that just about covers everything ...   we are ALL stupid in our own cute little way  AND  we have ALL a disapointment to GOD in our own cute little way.

It is them other people that aren't so cute with "THEIR" stupid disapointing ways that I can't stand!

Your philosophy disgusts me, I am offended that you would press your rediculous beliefs on this community. People are only allowed to post scientific assertations or Darwin theory in the religion and philosophy forum. I hope this retoric gets flagged.

The more hate you have for something  the more like it you become.

Don't become a reflection of that which you hate; If you hate,  before ya know it ...
    it will BE  YOU

I think you have to just not dwell on the thing you hate.  Think on the posative things that you love.

That is true!   BUT ;;;   When we see things in others that we hate the most ???    If we are willing to look withinside ourselves ?  we can usually see that in some abstract way; or (not so abstract) we are guilty of the same things though "WE" aren't as obnoxious with it as "THEY" are.
When we do that !   "WE" can put up with them a little better.

BUT as you say,  it is easire if we just focus on the positive.   And that other stuff isn't there .....  until they bite you again.

Well, you can generally find something good in that person that has a trait that you hate.  I really don't think it means you have the same bad trait.  Liars for instance.  If some one tells a lie about you, that doesn't mean you lie too.

Some times, you can live your life in a way that gives them no opportunity to bite you.

what if  am the negative observing the positive...what should I do..? hate them or be like them or remain me?

what if I am the Positive observing the negative...what should I do..? hate them or be like them or remain me?

So then we see the First and most important question is this ......

    Who Am I?

So without Truth to answer the first question....You are still in Chaos/confusion/death.
