   [b]Not that I care what Obama says, but shouldn't he at least be encouraging Americans to give money toward the crisis in Japan?  Shouldn't he speak to concerns over nuclear plants in the US?  Shouldn't he be a leader as people are sitting in their living rooms crying at the images of people suffering in the cold in Japan?  Where is he?  At least not golfing today.  Just doing the regular stuff. 
   
   He is barely present on the job.  It is becoming more clear every day that the man is in over his head.

      He translates his lack of generosity and that same lack of generosity of like minded liberals to all of us.    That isn't true.  American conservatives are the most generous charitable givers on earth.

      Everyone in America that can do something, will do something.. There is no doubt about that.
      
      You don't think Obama cares and is doing everything in his power to make things better? You are out of your mind.
      
      He did play a round of golf,(so I heard), but still I guarantee that it wasn't enjoyable and work was involved... He is one man and I can assure you the time he spent behind closed doors were more crucial than urging people to send money. Which he did do, and it is on every channel and every popular program, once again, the people that can send money will send money. We are all doing what we can. And unfortunately we can't do much, do to conflict and war.. All due to Governments and greed which if we would get passed that, things would have been a lot better for everyone in this terrible, horrendous situation. Imagine if everyone was able to help everyone, how much better off this world would be. Sucks..
      
      Even me I would be able to volunteer my time over there, free of charge and wouldn't care, if it was available.. And life was sustainable for me to do it, unfortunately that is not the case. It should be for everyone, but once again that ties in to governments, and how terrible they really are.
      
      Obama is not the answer, everyone becoming one as a whole is.

                  The dude I am talking about, I did not vote for, so I am not supporting him. I do find this topic to be untrue, however. This is easily the toughest time of his presidency, he is stressed out I can bet any money on it. I am giving him a "break" about this thread, not about his policies and where the US is headed. DERR. I am not wrong about that, I can care less if it looks like he is not doing anything, because I KNOW he is.

   A full agenda on-site at the White House hardly seems "AWOL."
   It is also not appropriate for the President of the United States to tell or even suggest to citizens what to do with their money.
   As horrific as the Japan earthquake/tsunami and nuclear reactor fallout is... (and I truly do not mean to minimize it in any way), there are people suffering all over the globe and here in the US. Are they unworthy of our aid?
   If President Obama were to tell Americans to give $ to Japan, how long do you think it would be before he was bombarded with criticism for NOT telling Americans to give to ...
   name your cause or country.
   
   Oh, by the way. All you pro-constitutionalists out there who are all about minimizing federal government and returning power to the states -- maybe you should check in with your local governor to see what leadership s/he is providing during this time of crisis...

      Of course the president can ask us to give to help out in a disaster.   That's called leadership.   It is not possible for the president to be able to ask for every need in the world and NOBODY expects him to.   He is, however, in a unique position to ask for those things most needed.    We, the people, WILL respond.

   Oh, I see. The President can ask his citizens, who have just come through the worst recession since the Great Depression, many of whom have lost their homes to foreclosure, many of whom are unemployed (and have been for an extended period) to give money to help the Japanese.
   (But not the Egyptians, Libyans or any of the other Middle East countries that are fighting for freedom).
   
   
   And what about when Obama sends federal aid to the Japanese? Will he be roundly castigated for that? Isn't he supposed to be reducing the deficit? Isn't he supposed to be cut, cut, cutting -- not taking our tax money and spend, spend, spending it?
   
   Admit it. It doesn't matter what Obama does or doesn't do. He is WRONG!

      The reason his is wrong, is he is incompetent. Nothing personal against the guy, just reality.  Should have stayed with his strong suit, community organizing.  He is out of his league when it comes to politics at the national and international level.  History will show this, just as it shows how incompetent Jimmy Carter was.
      Most other world leaders have him for lunch.  Even Clinton had more ability.  Hilary too!

   I'm sure there are other examples of Barack Obama telling us what we need to do and not do with our money.
   
   
   
   My point is that a leader of a nation typically tries to inspire and comfort the people he leads in times of crisis.  Do you think Americans are worried?  I do.
   
   And the president is absent. 
   
   I don't give a fig what he has to say about anything personally.  But I'm sure there are many people, children for example, who are seeing these horrific images and could use a word from the President of the United States.   Too bad we have a president who is hiding in the cloak room talking to dumber.

   If this was Hurricane Katrina or a crisis directly affecting the citizens he is the elected leader of, we would hope to see much more direct involvement from the White House.
   As it is, Obama is hardly turning a blind eye to the people of Japan.
   The thrust of the support he has offered to Japan is related to physical recovery/cleanup.
   That seems appropriate, does it not?
   Meanwhile, there are about a zillion agencies/organizations concerned Americans can hook up with to donate.
   I even got a "how you can help" notice from moveon.org....
