Lol! People don't get it well liberal people don't get it... we've freed millions of muslims in Bosnia and Iraq and Afghanistan and supported uprisings in Egypt and Libya but still muslims hate us! Why? Because we aren't muslims! They wont be happy until they kill us or convert us.

Whoops...there went all the Democrat speech of how the world hated us during the Bush Term...right out the proverbial window. Poor Obama...his Momma never told him that it is impossible to be liked by everyone...no matter how hard you try.

And there goes all your outrage for people of another country bashing your president.
BTW--they don't hate us because we're not muslim. They hate us because of our one-sided support for Israel, that brutal regime.

          MYTH

"Israel discriminates against its Arab citizens."

          FACT

Israel is one of the most open societies in the world. Out of a population of 6.7 million, about 1.3 million — 20 percent of the population — are non-Jews (approximately 1.1 million Muslims, 130,000 Christians and 100,000 Druze).

Arabs in Israel have equal voting rights; in fact, it is one of the few places in the Middle East where Arab women may vote.

Arabs currently hold 8 seats in the 120-seat Knesset. Israeli Arabs have also held various government posts, including one who served as Israel's ambassador to Finland and the current deputy mayor of Tel Aviv. Oscar Abu Razaq was appointed Director General of the Ministry of Interior, the first Arab citizen to become chief executive of a key government ministry.

Ariel Sharon's original cabinet included the first Arab minister, Salah Tarif, a Druze who served as a minister without portfolio.

An Arab is also a Supreme Court justice.

Arabic, like Hebrew, is an official language in Israel. More than 300,000 Arab children attend Israeli schools. At the time of Israel's founding, there was one Arab high school in the country. Today, there are hundreds of Arab schools.

In 2002, the Israeli Supreme Court also ruled that the government cannot allocate land based on religion or ethnicity, and may not prevent Arab citizens from living wherever they choose.

The sole legal distinction between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel is that the latter are not required to serve in the Israeli army. This is to spare Arab citizens the need to take up arms against their brethren. Nevertheless, Bedouins have served in paratroop units and other Arabs have volunteered for military duty. Compulsory military service is applied to the Druze and Circassian communities at their own request.

Some economic and social gaps between Israeli Jews and Arabs result from the latter not serving in the military. Veterans qualify for many benefits not available to non-veterans. Moreover, the army aids in the socialization process.

On the other hand, Arabs do have an advantage in obtaining some jobs during the years Israelis are in the military. In addition, industries like construction and trucking have come to be dominated by Israeli Arabs.

Although Israeli Arabs have occasionally been involved in terrorist activities, they have generally behaved as loyal citizens. During the 1967, 1973 and 1982 wars, none engaged in any acts of sabotage or disloyalty. Sometimes, in fact, Arabs volunteered to take over civilian functions for reservists. During the outbreak of violence in the territories that began in September 2000, Israeli Arabs for the first time engaged in widespread protests with some violence.

The United States has been independent for almost 230 years and still has not integrated all of its diverse communities. Even today, 60 years after civil rights legislation was adopted, discrimination has not been eradicated. It should not be surprising that Israel has not solved all of its social problems in only 57 years.

Do you support the Goldstone Report?
Did you watch The Iron Wall?
            Have you read Theodor Herzl?

Or are you telling me the situation of the Palestinians is good and just?
If so, that shows your mind-set, and nothing that I can trust.

Ever been to Israel? The anti-Christian and anti-Muslim attitude is quite palpable. You can't learn about what life in Israel is really like on a church tour. In many places, Palestinians are literally kept behind a wall - a wall that looks and functions just like the old Berlin Wall in Germany.

For a non-Jew, there is very little freedom of movement, very little in the way of property rights, very little of anything in fact. It is a dismal existence indeed. To be fair, there is a strong secular movement in Israel - mainly among the "Progressives" - go figure.

You are very angry at Christian Right Wing, Conservative, God-Fearing, Nation Loving, Proud of our Country-just the way it is, Nutjobs...like myself. And you are just dying to not only get the last word in to every fray you ever enter...but you're also willing to make little jabbish hints...about how I should conduct myself...while I make my form of reference in comment form...under the label that you define me under. So, that makes you kind of Judge and Jury on everything you say. All so that you can be the very thing you try so hard to be daily on the forums here. You just want to be right about everything! Guess what, Chris lover...don't even tell me how I really take The Word to heart. That is just pompous and arrogant...and immature. And so like a Non-Religion, Liberal, Yankee, who spouts of tolerance all day long...about the same way she posts all day on the forums in arguments with everyone!

Why don't you try to get along with more folks, Chris lover? Did some big mean Republican say bad things to you that you can never forgive? Can't you find forgiveness in your heart (Christian labeled comment-What you'd expect also-from someone of that label)? I'm sure you will have some sarcastic comment to make to get the last word in...because you are the one that states correctly...how the rest of us should be thinking!

I mean in a way it only follows that if you must agree with everything this country has ever done to be a "good American," you must agree with, well, everything this country is doing now in order to fit the definition of a "good American."

Of course, my statement is ridiculous - but no more ridiculous than questioning another American's patriotism because they find the treatment of the Palestinians by Israel and our foreign policy, rubber stamping Israel's actions, etc., to be either "wrong" or questionable.

              Dear Love My Chris:

Perhaps My Point was not made clear. Why would I ask you about anything pertaining to the Bible? Why would I even care what you have read or learned in respect to giving me any kind of legitimate answer? No Christian is going to seek counsel or words of wisdom from a Non-Believer on matters of the Bible...to which the Non-Believer knows nothing about. (No matter how much they thing they do...they lack the thorough understanding of the heart!) Therefore: any scripture or attempt to reference from the Bible from a Non-Believer is first null and void. Only unless, they are trying very hard to understand it for themselves...would any consideration be made to the fact that "Now...this person is beginning to see the light!" You can study all you want-you just can't preach it till ya' have a basic understanding. No Christian will recieve your scripture reference made with lack of any understanding. That's a Believer Fact. (Period). Sorry to have to inform you if you thought otherwise.

Would you take a statement made about a piece of artwork from someone who had never painted art...or who had never tried hard to study the piece of art they are trying to critique?

Would you trust a skinny gourmet who had never tasted true Italian Pizza to tell you how to make a Pizza, when they themselves are doing one for the first time?

Would you listen to an angler tell you where the fish are biting, when you can look inside his boat...and see he hasn't caught a darn thing all day?

    Israel, why so hated?

I think David Stewart explains things rather well.  It is very well worth a read.  I never hated Jews or Israel but I never really understood that they are still part of God's plan for mankind either.  Their place in this world is a very difficult and dangerous one and all for the sake of salvation offered to every man and woman for all generations through Jesus Christ.  It is worth trying to understand.  I hope you who are not interested in reading this will read the article anyway and that it will make sense to you.

"We must expel Arabs and take their places."
-- David Ben Gurion, 1937, Ben Gurion and the Palestine Arabs, Oxford University Press, 1985.

"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population."

-- David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff.   From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.

"There has been Anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?"
-- Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp. 121-122.

"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population."

-- David Ben Gurion, quoted in The Jewish Paradox, by Nahum Goldmann, Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1978, p. 99.

"Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves ... politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves... The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country."
-- David Ben Gurion, quoted on pp 91-2 of Chomsky's Fateful Triangle, which appears in Simha Flapan's "Zionism and the Palestinians pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.

"If I knew that it was possible to save all the children of Germany by transporting them to England, and only half by transferring them to the Land of Israel, I would choose the latter, for before us lies not only the numbers of these children but the historical reckoning of the people of Israel."
-- David Ben-Gurion (Quoted on pp 855-56 in Shabtai Teveth's Ben-Gurion in a slightly different translation).

"There is no such thing as a Palestinian people... It is not as if we came and threw them out and took their country. They didn't exist."

"How can we return the occupied territories? There is nobody to return them to."
      -- Golda Meir, March 8, 1969.

"Any one who speaks in favor of bringing the Arab refugees back must also say how he expects to take the responsibility for it, if he is interested in the state of Israel. It is better that things are stated clearly and plainly: We shall not let this happen."
-- Golda Meir, 1961, in a speech to the Knesset, reported in Ner, October 1961

"This country exists as the fulfillment of a promise made by God Himself. It would be ridiculous to ask it to account for its legitimacy."

"[Israel will] create in the course of the next 10 or 20 years conditions which would attract natural and voluntary migration of the refugees from the Gaza Strip and the west Bank to Jordan. To achieve this we have to come to agreement with King Hussein and not with Yasser Arafat."
-- Yitzhak Rabin (a "Prince of Peace" by Clinton's standards), explaining his method of ethnically cleansing the occupied land without stirring a world outcry. "The settlement of the Land of Israel is the essence of Zionism. Without settlement, we will not fulfill Zionism. It's that simple."
      -- Yitzhak Shamir, Maariv, 02/21/1997.

"(The Palestinians) would be crushed like grasshoppers ... heads smashed against the boulders and walls."
-- Isreali Prime Minister (at the time) Yitzhak Shamir in a speech to Jewish settlers New York Times April 1, 1988

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization, or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands."
