Can Catholics have sex on a Sunday or do they have to take it easy?

   Considering the true Sabbath is friday night to Saturday night... they are free to do anything they want on Sunday. They just have no clue they break the Sabbath every week... so they are oblivious to the fact that they might as well piss on sunday. The infraction is already committed by then.

      Mr. Mason, don't you think that might be a lame argument? Are we 100% sure that Saturday, on the Gregorian calender, coincides with the actual day the Christians believe God rested? Wouldn't it be more logical to assume that if you wanted to follow that commandment the only thing you could do was flip a coin and pick a seventh day?
      
      Are we to honestly believe that the days have remained in a particular order over (I'm assuming you are a Bible literalist) six thousand years? If you aren't a literalist it would be even more difficult to believe.
      
      Why allow an unsupportable argument to be a bone of contention?

         But the Jewish calender places it on Saturday, also. So yes, I am sure.
         
         And it is a well established fact that the Roman Cathoilic Chruch moved it to Sunday to appease, some would say lure, the pagans into thier flock. Sunday was the day of the Roman Sun God, Sol Invictus.

            I won't argue that point about moving to Sunday. We do know the day was moved, there is some disagreement as to why.
            
            But, the problem remains in my mind. How is one to know that the Israelites maintained the integrity of the day? Goodness. The history shows they were, at times, far removed from their faith. That fact alone would make me somewhat leery of chastising others for the day they choose to observe their Sabbath. How would I know for sure I was right? And in the end, if you believe in God, do you think he would care? As long as you were attempting to keep the faith?

                  Whew. I was afraid you  were going to try to drag me down a path I didn't want to go.
                  
                  But, I wasn't attempting to be argumentative. I have truly never understood why this is seen as cause for separation among Christians. They always speak of unity, body of Christ kind of thing, but small things cause discord.
                  
                  It reminds me of when I was young and in church. They used to sing the same song every time they passed the plate and even as a young child I was amazed at the hypocrisy. The song talked about a tie that bound their hearts in christian love. I never saw the tie. I assumed it had been broken and  wondered why I was the only who saw that.

                     The Sabbath is God's day and as such is one of the most precious in Christianity and judaism. So there is a good reason for the devide. God said keep my day and it will show you are faithful to me. And that day was set as the seventh day, not the first. And none can change God's law or days but God.
                     
                     But no argument here, Emile. I do not drag people, I simple stand and fight  with passion for those things I believe. As many here do.
