MY hubs sound like a history lesson

   I have written several hubs on travel.  I look for something different and unique about the town and try to educate my readers with a little, "I didn't know that."  But as I go back and reread the hubs they sound too much like telling a history lesson.  Any suggestions on how to make them more appealing.

      You should write in a simple manner what you want to say. That would resolve your problem.

   I think you need to personalize them.  Have you travelled to these places?  Devote some time to painting a picture of the area - what you liked about it, what you didn't, as well as giving the dry facts.  Your Hubs are a bit short for a travel Hub - a longer Hub gives you more space to give your personal impressions as well as the historical facts

      Thank you very much.  I have traveled to all the places and took the pictures.  I will put more personal opinion and views into the next one.

   I'm not necessarily disagreeing with Marissa about adding something more personal, but I don't really think your Hubs seem like a history lesson either.  They're nice.  They did strike me as little on the brief side for travel Hubs, though.    One of my favorite kinds of Hubs are those with pictures people have taken of places themselves.  Looking forward to more (particularly because I'm from Massachusetts, I guess).

   I always like to use my imagination a bit when beginning a historical location hub, Diane.  Not always, but some places seem to call for it.  Here is one in which I used just such an opening.  But then again, some may not like this type of a beginning. It's a shot in the dark! 
   
   Apparently this worked for me because a member of the restoration company contacted me after reading my article and invited me back for a special tour of the newly restored plantation house.

      Well your Wellfleet home hub at my post hated tautology "most unique" - but to me it was far too short-  it was just getting started and then it was over!
      
      Put your own opinions in - be there - did you hate the hotel, laugh a the local "rush hour" of 10 minutes - eat at a really good bad/restaraunt, see something funny,sad, unusual?

         I never thought of doing my articles as a travel log.  I was just throwing info out and letting my readers take it from there, but you are right I should add more about the area and my views.  I arrive at my locations by sailboat and usually eat aboard, but I'm sure I can find something to write about.  Thanks again.
