Un-necessary roughness by NY Police Against Wall Street Protesters

   "The first three arrests came on Pine Street, when a police lieutenant ordered that two men wearing ski masks be taken into custody. Officers then arrested a woman wearing a plastic mask on the back of her head.
   
   The next arrest came a few minutes later on when a deputy inspector standing on Wall Street ordered a man wearing an orange hat to keep moving. The man, who had turned around in a crowded sidewalk just west of Broad Street, spoke to the inspector for a moment, then lifted his hands and said that he was having difficulty moving.
   
   At that, the inspector reached over a curbside barricade, grabbed the man and tried to haul him from the sidewalk onto the street. As the man backed away, the inspector lunged forward, holding onto the man and toppling the metal barricade. The inspector fell to the sidewalk and a moment later the man in the orange hat was also on the ground, being handcuffed."
   
   Another man was arrested, and the police initially said he was charged with jumping a police barrier and resisting arrest. But a reporter and a photographer for The Times who witnessed and documented the episode between the man in the orange hat and the police did not see him attempting to jump a barrier. Late in the afternoon, the police said the man was charged with committing disorderly conduct by impeding pedestrian traffic, not with jumping a barrier.
   
   "Another woman was arrested around 11:45 a.m. as she was writing in chalk on the sidewalk on Broadway near Zuccotti Park. “They just came up and grabbed her,” said Jessica Davis, 19, who identified the arrested woman as Andrea Osborne. The police confirmed a sixth arrest, of a woman, on graffiti charges."
   
   Organizers said that the protests were inspired by demonstrations in Egypt and Spain and could continue for weeks or even months.

   "Armed with guns and pepper spray, thugs in New York, New York cops, assaulted women and men in broad daylight in a despicable act caught on video, and arrested people video-taping other outrages.
   This New York cop, an officer in the white shirt in the video below, should be fired and charges should be brought."

   "Yeah, having a trust is not an accomplishment regardless of what people have trusts seem to think. As my mother reminded me as a child, "your only accomplishment in life is having slid out of the right uterus and you even had lots of help doing that." Many of my trustafarian friends get that, some don't think about it, and some people actually think they hit a triple when, in fact, they were born on third base. Some of them are too dense to realize that you don't have a trust worth tens of millions of dollars by the age of 25 because YOU have accomplished something when you've never worked or sold an invention of some sort. The Teabaggers buy into this same myth too. There is no such thing as a meritocracy. None.
   
   These people would really be mad if they knew I am a black lesbian. That I could be such a person and look down on them. According to their metric, I am better than them or at least worthy of demonic worship of "job creators." But, if they saw me in person, they would spit on me. Actually, it makes them angry that I could buy them and sell them and never even feel it. They are awful people who need to get a clue. They are delusional or brainwashed. I don't know. There is nothing wrong with having aspirations. What IS wrong is undermining your or anyone's ability to achieve those aspirations by helping people hoard wealth. I don't even have to apply for tax cuts. Even though I am in the .1% after interest and money from investments (which are barely taxed), I don't pay very much in taxes in comparison to what I take in. When they trot out the old, "but those people pay the most money into the tax coffers," I say, "yes, that's true, but how much of the nation's wealth do we own?" Maybe the rest of the 99.9% of Americans could pay into the tax systems if they had access to money, jobs, and opportunities. Unfortunately, the b*tch and moan class (mine), only see the "poor little rich me" side of things. The Teabaggers don't realize that Republicans are tittering and giggling and pinching their chubby little flanks every morning to make sure it wasn't all a dream, that they have, in fact, gotten the very people they beat down to take up their standard and fight for them. The whole thing is appalling and stupid."

   This is the reason that Police Departments nationwide are trying to get legislation passed making it illegal to film a Police Officer.
   
   They have some things they wish to hide.  Like the abuse of citizens they are sworn to protect.
   
   I think every Law officer should be filmed and recorded during their entire shift.
   
   For their own protection 
   
   It would be great evidence during trials to actually see the actions on which claims are made.

   Don't libs want to give Michael Moore some credit?  Or Soros' machine?  After all, the mainstream media gets their talking points from a Soros org on political issues, that's why they all say the same thing, have the same opinion.  Michael Moore is not out there promoting civil unrest without being given his marching orders from a reliable patriarch guiding his poster child big hiney for Michelle Obama's healthy eating thingy.

    What is the mindset of the police? Who do they think they are protecting? Do they feel as individuals they are outside of this issue, that the people giving the orders are true, just and right? Why do they all look like mindless controlled automatons, following orders?
    
    A list of questions I know but the lack of humanity is frightening. Surely some of them question there role in defending the indefensible! I'm just waiting for the "following orders" defence! Like that abrogates personal responsiblity.
    
    Non violent resistance is the only way forward.

       While I believe the protesters would be better served marching on the privately owned Federal Reserve the topic of this post relates to the attitude of the police and the methods they used to control a peaceful protest.
