   Why have I only made .46 cents in three weeks from 8 hubs, and I have all ad programs active?  I've had a good amt of traffic, and some comments. How does this all work, and what do I need to do to make money?

      That's actually pretty good for your first three weeks.
      
      And what is good traffic? You don't have your 1,000 views badge yet.
      
      Your traffic is probably mostly from Hubpages right now. Google traffic brings you the money.
      
      You can expect to make somewhere around an average of $3-$7 per 1,000 views (that can vary depending on topic of course.)

      I'm not after the money but I do love it I aim for getting my hubs high on google so that my traffic increases and I'm seeing a three times rise in traffic now than what I averaged in december

   I cannot believe these kind of posts it took me over two years to get my first cheque.  Making money should not be the no 1 motivating factor when you write here.  You would make more money per hour doing virtually  any other job unless you get in the top 1% of Hubbers

      Barry that's because you had just Adsense and there wasn't the HP ad program

   Thanks for the replies. And certainly money is not my motivating factor Barryrotherford, I love writing. But I do check it at times, also it's staring me in the face, under "my account".
   Thanks again!  Okay I guess I wont make anything from this for a while then....if that....

      Here are the "averages" (please note, they are only that, can take longer or shorter and only apply if you keep at it):
      
      -It will take you 6-9 months to hit first payout (although this varies depending on wether you're getting more through Adsense/Amazon/HPads, as they all have different payout minimums.) After that the time generally halves each time till you're doing it every month.
      -Most hubs you write will begin to see good, steady traffic from 6 months on. Unless of course you write on topics that are saturated with content or that no one is reading.
      -If you treat internet writing and learning and earning like a "real" 9-5 job, it will take you an average of 2 years to get a good passive income.

      It does take time to start earning, give it six months and you will be making payout consistently that is ..if you keep writing regularly. I am not greatly motivated by money either but I do like to tell people that I do useful work.  lol

   The other thing to remember about earnings is that you have to have something that people might google.  Writing about your life's hardships is really more personal therapy than blogging.

      Very true. I think about that too, when writing. Admittedly one of my blogs is a more personal one, yet one that many can relate to....we'll see, I guess.
