SUGGESTION: block spam caught by the auto-filters from the feed page

   Is there some way that messages caught by the automated spam filters can be blocked from the feed page? 
   
   The most annoying part is that even once deleted forever, they continue to show up there.

      I wondered the same thing.  I suppose WE are the only ones who can see our spammed hubs, as I haven't observed any other than mine on the feed.  Still, it is rather frustrating to see them there even after deleting them previously.  Just glad HP's filter is working so well.

      I can see why HubPages thinks it's useful for  us to see them, because some people never remember to check their spam folder.  But I agree, I'd rather not see them on the feed at all.

   To have those comments show on the feed page seems to defeat the purpose or at least be at odds with having an automated filter catch them.  And if you do check your spam folder and delete comments, shouldn't that stuff then actually be gone?
   
   Having a long-deleted fragment about a porn star dismembering bodies (tied to links for knock-off handbags) in permanent residency on my feed page seems like a massive engineering oversight.

   here's another reason why this suggestion is a good one. I have arthrititis. In clicking the "delete forever" button, I missed by a few pixels, hit one of the group of spam links slathered on a guestbook, and wound up opening one of the sites the spammer was advertising.
   
   It's too danged easy to pick up some malware by accident with all those spam links in our activity stream.

      I stopped using the Delete button in the activity stream, because it doesn't seem to work - when I went to my spam folder, all the ones I thought I'd deleted were still there.

         The problem actually goes both ways.  You can go to the spam folder and hit "delete forever" there and then go back to your feed (sometimes even hours later) and the spam messages are still showing.
         
         
         
         If the spam filter is catching them, the majority of the time they really are spam.  Is there anyway to add a modification to the spam folder (if it really needs to be cleaned out regularly) that will automatically delete messages left in that folder if they are more than 30 or 60 days old?  That would take care of cleaning that out for people who never bother to go look there.

   The reason that we show the spam comments in your Feed (Maria rightfully pointed out) is because many users don't go to their spam folders. The idea was that we were giving you the opportunity to easily act on comments from the feed.
   
   However, I agree with you all. Who wants to see them?
   
   I've asked our development team to look into the difficulty of keeping them out of the feed. Stay tuned...
