I have not received any email notifications from HubPages since yesterday, March 9th, just before noon.  Has anyone else had this problem?  I will retype my email address and check my junk folder.

      No, Faith.  My email is chock full of messages from HP:  new Hubs, comments on Hub, etc.etc;

Oh, really, Mary!  Wow, how odd.  I checked my spam as sometimes it will go there, but nothing showing up there from HP.  Then I retyped my email address under my email settings and made sure all the right boxes were checked.  Hopefully, they will start popping in soon.  Maybe I will shutdown and reboot.

I guess I will have to go under my account to all those I follow to see if they have published anything yesterday afternoon or today.

I just checked my email and what I did must have done the trick as I have some email now!  There is a big time gap though, so I still may need to check under my followers to see who has published a hub.

        Thanks, Mary

Faith, check your junk mail. I found all my notifications there when I stopped getting them.

            Hi aesta,

Yes, that has happened to me before a couple of times, where I found them all in junk mail.  However, my notifications are starting to come in now, after I retyped in my email address under my email settings and made sure I had all the right boxes checked.  So, I believe I am good to go.

            Thank you so much!

This happens periodically, and I just check my junk mail and sometimes they are all there, but not this time.  Then I always go under my email settings and retype my email address and then they start popping in again.  I know I lost a big time period of emails, so I will have to go under my account to those I follow and see who had published a hub during that lost time.  Thanks, Jackie

Try and delete some old mails and contact Hubpages if such issue continues.

Thank you, Uzo, yes, I do have thousands in my inbox. I like to follow the comment stream on some hubs. Anyway, I am receiving emails now and I all I did was retyped my email address under my email settings and that did the trick. I appreciate you and your suggestion.

Faith, I had a problem like that too and I found that changing both my passwords for my email and my HP account helped.  You might want to try it - although, at least on my end, the reason it worked had more to do with a generalized network hacking through my email accounts (which is a chronic problem for me).  That it was remedied for awhile meant that when it happened again I had to repeat the process of changing both passwords.

If you find it helps you when you change passwords, then it might be a symptom you have someone hacking your email.  My suggestion?  Open a new email account and use the new account in your Hubpages profile.  Also, open a "Blur" account (do search on Google) and "mask" your email address in your HP account.  Blur is a program that hides your email address on HP, using instead a "computer generated code" that you put as your contact email in your HP settings.  I found that it works pretty well, rather than having to change my passwords every day.  Good luck.  Hope all is well with you.  Cynthia

      Hi Dear Cynthia,

You are always so helpful in these matters.  Thank you for sharing all of your valuable insight into such issues.  I am happy to report that after I just retype my email address in and made sure I had all the appropriate boxes checked under my email settings of my profile page, I started receiving emails again!

However, recently a message popped up about how many attempted hacks were attempted on my computer and then a severe warning, but I am thankful for my security that I have on my computer as none of them were successful!  It is scary to think about someone able to so easily hacked into one's computer as you have stated here.

      Blessings always

I am glad you were able to fix it Faith.  Wish I could be on Hubpages more often.  I want to thank you for all the sharing of my Hubpage articles in the past.  I only recently saw the shares and was moved - literally - to tears cause I catch glimpses of a real computer experience only occasionally.

Today I have set my permissions in my folders but that will only last a short time.  And you are right:  The hacking is incredible but so preventable.  On my computer, for example, by default, iTunes and other files are set to "sharing" - even if I turn them off at setup.  Why?  In the news all we hear over and over again are stories about hacking - but why then make some features "shared" by default?  It ought be the other way around, making the user turn sharing on, not off.

I learned only a few weeks ago that the iTunes app is shared by default, and the Tech person I spoke to did not deny it.  Incredible because it allows access into the entire library of anyone who does not turn sharing off.  All my settings and firewall are properly set to "no sharing," yet when I noticed my library folders were being modified I logged into iTunes and saw the "sharing" box checked and a "password" functionality that required it be utilized to stop the sharing.

I can go on forever with the all the backdoors, the games, the apps like "guitar" etc.  Makes you wonder:  Is the outrage over hacking a ruse when the remedy to stop it is not even up for discussion?
