Does Hubpages Stop Sending you Traffic if you Stop Witing Hubs?

   I haven't written anything on HP for about two years.  I still come by occasionally to comment, or post to the forum.  I noticed that with 174 hubs I get about 100 pages views a day.  Just wondering if real traffic is sent to those participating, rather than those who are not.  What has been your experience?  Do you have to be continually writing hubs to be 'sent' traffic?  Oh yes, my Hub Score is 80.

      Most readers find Hubs via search, so one of the main things that can affect your Hubs reaching a large audience of readers is SEO for the subject and keywords that apply to your Hub.

      HubberScore has an effect on links in that authors with a HubberScore lower than 85 have links in Hubs set to no-follow.

         First of all, sorry for misspelling the word, "writing" in the title.  I didn't have on my glass when I wrote this  morning in bed!

      HubPages doesn't "send" you any traffic.    All HubPages does is act as a platform for your Hubs.  It's the search engines who decide whether to send you traffic, and the search engines don't really care whether you're active or not.  Far more important is whether you're writing about subjects that people are looking for.
      
      Your Hubs can get some traffic from other Hubbers if you are active on the forums, commenting etc, but that's usually a small proportion of your overall traffic.

      i had stopped writing at HP for 1.5 years, because I focused on bubblews at that time, with 120 hubs, i get 119 traffic views with 79 hubscore. Then, I started to participate in answering questions, forums, which my traffic picked up. Actually, if you are not active, you don't see any improve traffic.

      Something that Google does take into account is the 'freshness' of your content (how recently it has been updated.) - No one outside Google knows how much it affects traffic as it's one of over 200 signals, but it does have an affect.
      
      I have noticed that the hubs I don't update do see a (gradual) decline in traffic; there don't need to be significant update to a hub to drive it up in the rankings again; just adding and updating relevant information is a good signal to the search engines that your content is up to date.

      Search engines respond to site activity. You have a unique subdomain, so anything you do with your account will usually result in some positive response from the search engines.

   The internal traffic might disappear but with the right content and keywords you can get traffic for evermore from Google.  In theory.

   Have you checked how many of your hubs have been "unfeatured"--those ones do not get listed by search engines.

      95% of my hubs are featured.  I started deleted the one that are worth fixing.  Sometimes you look at a hub that has been un-featured and you totally get it!  LOL

   I think as long as you participate in forums, read and comments other hubbers hubs every now and then, it will help your traffic to rise. That´s what I have observed with my traffic.

   Keywords, content, promote, promote, promote.  You want search engine traffic to be your primary traffic source.

   I cannot believe that with that huge amount of hubs, you get about 100 views per day. With about 121 hubs, I receive more than 1000 views per day.
   
   All depends on keywords and search engine.

   I notice when I am not active in writing on hubpage or I do not comment on other hubs, my score drops. I currently have writer's block, so seeing my score has dropped from 80 to 78 I at least read others and commented. It also depends on what you write. I mostly write short stories and poems and apparently this is not as popular as educational hubs, food hubs and commentaries.
