I have been on some sites, where one cannot right-click to save text or photos. Could not that technology be implemented here on HP, so our readers could still click on links and ads, but not right-click to copy content?
There are still those who would find a way around it, but it would deter the majority of people who simply wish to duplicate content elsewhere for their own benefit.
As I posted in the subject line, I am possibly simply very naive.
The people who bulk plagiarize are the very ones who know the two click way around no-right-click, whereas the fan who wants to quote one sentence and link back to you, boosting your traffic and pagerank, does not.
It was discussed just a few months ago: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/128073
Really, it's very easy to get around not being able to right-click.
Thank you, Sheila. I must have missed that - said I was naive, and after reading all of the posts here, and the posts on that forum, I understand.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I think that plagiarism can't be stopped easily, in the internet. If we're talking about HP, they make sure, maybe, that people don't plagiarize others post in the Internet and in this community.
If it could be stopped easily it would be - so no it can't. The mass theft is done by software that "scrapes" content and no right click coding in the world will prevent that. Sadly, plagiarism will always be a problem because most people don't view it as actual theft. The same people that do it would not likely rob your house - there seems to be this kind of pervasive mindset that if it's on the internet it's "free".
Thanks, everyone, for your input! I figured it was simply to easy to block the right-clicking. I am most grateful for all of your responses.
It is simply hard for me to see how many excellent writers here have had their content copied, word-for-word, and posted elsewhere. They seem to have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it removed.

I dont mean a traumatic brain injury that causes one to lose their senses, what I am asking is...when experiences are shared (such as being in school, not home-schooled) how does a person grow up to be naive?

How do you forgive yourself for being so naive. He took away my virginity and three weeks later slept with another girl, but tells me I'm his all and it was only sex. I was a virgin till I almost turned 21 and intended to keep it till marriage. I beat myself up everyday for being such a fool and I...

Is it naive to think that there is 'the one'?and I'm not talking about the matrix. It seems highly unlikely that in a world populated by 6 billion people that there is one perfect person out there, or is it? Does fate compel us to find our perfect partner or do we just settle with what's in front...

I was just reading through some of the more emotional and fanatical posts on the religious threads and I'm beginning to wonder how many of the more extreme posts aren't simply theatrics. Reality TV style.Am I the only one who thinks that most of the extreme religious posts are nothing more than the...

I'm so naive. I can't understand why if a woman adjusts her bra in public it is at most seen as...provocative. If a man adjusts his cup it is seen as gross. Do I, correctly, perceive that women can perform personal acts with more grace that a man?
