I have been on some sites, where one cannot right-click to save text or photos. Could not that technology be implemented here on HP, so our readers could still click on links and ads, but not right-click to copy content?
There are still those who would find a way around it, but it would deter the majority of people who simply wish to duplicate content elsewhere for their own benefit.
As I posted in the subject line, I am possibly simply very naive.
The people who bulk plagiarize are the very ones who know the two click way around no-right-click, whereas the fan who wants to quote one sentence and link back to you, boosting your traffic and pagerank, does not.
It was discussed just a few months ago: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/128073
Really, it's very easy to get around not being able to right-click.
Thank you, Sheila. I must have missed that - said I was naive, and after reading all of the posts here, and the posts on that forum, I understand.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I think that plagiarism can't be stopped easily, in the internet. If we're talking about HP, they make sure, maybe, that people don't plagiarize others post in the Internet and in this community.
If it could be stopped easily it would be - so no it can't. The mass theft is done by software that "scrapes" content and no right click coding in the world will prevent that. Sadly, plagiarism will always be a problem because most people don't view it as actual theft. The same people that do it would not likely rob your house - there seems to be this kind of pervasive mindset that if it's on the internet it's "free".
Thanks, everyone, for your input! I figured it was simply to easy to block the right-clicking. I am most grateful for all of your responses.
It is simply hard for me to see how many excellent writers here have had their content copied, word-for-word, and posted elsewhere. They seem to have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it removed.

First off, I reached 1/2 of my payout today, so that is very exciting! Thank you all for the advice so far, but I am in need of more. I am a little concerned, because I earned from two clicks this morning from a very low traffic hub. I thought that was really weird when I saw how much I had earned...

There are some hubs on my account that have received horrible scores due to minor plagiarism; Is there a way I can delete them?

The last couple of Adsense clicks I've had have been worth 1p (about 1.5 cents). I didn't realise it was possible for clicks to be that small in value! Can anyone shed any light? (These are actual clicks and not just impressions). Off to bed now so won't be able to check...
