I received an email via someone on Hubpages and was wondering if this is a spammer.  Here is what the email said:

    "Good evening,

I saw your comment about the google pay. please i wan to know how it works and if you could be of help to me, i am a female in college studying nursing, and i realy have high fees to pay for, i have been looking online for a way out until i finally saw this today. please do reply."

Now I have a hub about Google product kit scam but nothing about Google pays.  What is your thoughts on this?  Should I reply back?

I would reply back and ask them if they were asking about your hub.  Of course unless you just would like to wait and see if they email you again.

I think I'm just going to wait because I received a email something like this before and replied back to the person and they never sent me an email back and also I noticed I started getting quite a few spam emails after that.

Oh, I usually look and see if I can find them on hubpages.  If its a hubber, I usually email back.

That is funny cause I was just saying on another thread about having a few strange emails.

OMG that has happened to me too. I thought it was strange the sudden influx of spam. I guess I will have to go more careful in future about who I reply to. I really don't get how much they must earn for passing on our details. I had to shut my Tiscali down because the spam was incredible. It's probably still there with 20 trillion emails in it.

Wow I just can't believe people would sell other peoples email address!  Just crazy!  Just goes to show we have to be careful who emails us on here.

I've received several similar e.mails (not regularly, but every so often).  I don't reply to them because I do think there's something "off".   I just figure, why would anyone need to specifically contact any Hubber (and the e.mails are always in broken English) when HubPages tells people what the situation is, and the forum is loaded with information.

The search bar in the top right, ya search and select "more" and you can select hubbers.

If you're e.mailed through your HubPages profile the e.mail message will say "unverified" (a stranger) or else the Hubber's name.  If the e.mail came from "outside", it would really make you wonder why a Hubber would not contact you through your profile.

It did say email was unverified so that means it was an outsider?

Well I guess for now on any emails that are not verified by Hubpages will not get a reply back.  Thank you all for your help!

I looked at your hub and I think that when they seen that you made a hub about google products and scams, that they were asking you about a google pay product or something is all.  I would hate for you to report some poor curious person.

What happens when you mark it as spam. I have loads and just of late magazine susciptions for hairdressing no less. Now the only people I speak to on this acount is hubers. So am I to think that some hubers use hubpages as a way of collecting emails?

Some may do that.  I dont report anyone for spam unless it is obviously spam.  I don't know what happens to them if you report them.  I hate spam.
