always enjoyed taking a nice stick for a ride- if you know how to drive them, they last longer than automatics and are more efficient   big_smile

Why must we always have these threads they never get solved.
You can't prove the power of stick over automatic. It just boils down to faith and there are others that will always deny the existence of a stick shift because it came from the olden days.

It all depends on what you're using it for. To experience the thrill of driving, you've got to be using a stick shift. If you're just trying to get from point A to point B in a metropolitan area, automatic is probably best. There are few things more annoying than shifting my way through a traffic jam.

I know plenty of women who love stick shifts. I think the major factor is what they used when they were learning to drive. If you're taught on a stick shift, chances are you'll have no desire to go automatic.

Nothing worse than getting stuck behind someone who drives a stick but really can't.

In the U.K. we don't have stick shift - we just have normal cars (with gears) and the odd automatic for those who can't drive a proper car.
