Well for internal traffic keep posting in the forums, keep posting hubs and people will check it out smile
I'm not an expert on external traffic, but there are plenty of experienced hubbers to help you with that smile

The site isn't what I would call a social networking site. You want external traffic reading your hubs so you need to do backlinks and promotion of them offsite to get traffic coming in and reading your hubs.

Joining in on one of the challenges that are here is a great way to get to know some of the other hubbers and start increasing your fan base. You also want to read and comment on others hubs to get that going.

It is not an instantanious site. It is a site for building to make the money and you need to read, read, read, then write, write, write to start making decent money on your hubs.

As to the affiliate program at Amazon are you sure you have it set up properly? Did you sign up with them and then put your code in the proper place under your account settings here at hubpages? Those would be the first things I checked. It takes a few days to get everything working properly. It then takes weeks, months and sometimes from what I am seeing a year or more to get really going on this site.

Edit: I went and took a look at your hubs. They are more like snippets than an article. HubPages is about article writing and something in the range of 500 to 1000 words works best for a hub. It isn't a blog site. It is an article writing site. This may have a great deal to do with why you aren't getting many fans or comments as it seems you have the wrong idea of what the site is for in the long run.

There are a number of spelling errors as well as capitalization errors you need to fix too.

Hope that helps get you on the right track.

the best way to draw readers from within HubPages (since that's likely all you will get at the moment) is to make yourself visible around the community. Continue to participate in the forums and read and comment on other hubs. Hubbers won't know you are around to visit unless they see you around from time to time smile

As your score grows, you will become more visible and gain more readers and followers. The comments will increase as well.

You may want to wait a bit if you are getting error messages on Amazon. It may be something with their system. If you think you may be doing something wrong and hence the erorr message, try typing "Amazon Afilliate" into the search bar at the top of the page and looking under hubs. I also have a hub on Amazon, so u can click on my pic and find it on my profile.

Welcome to HubPages!! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!! big_smile

write quality content, build a foundation and follow in the footsteps of information:

provided by ryankett, mark knowles, darkside, and too many others to list here.

oh, and stay away from the trolls.  they outnumber the informative hubbers by at least a 20:1 ratio and offer little in the way of meaningful dialogue.

they are, however, a valuable asset to the community as with a bit of keyword research you can write some hugely popular hubs about them.  just include the word stupid.

they should all be showing up shortly.  unless, of course, they're hung over from drinking too much cheap alcohol last nite.

    welcome to hubpages!

Welcome to HubPages! Everyone gave you good advice. Read back in the forums, hubs and FAQ's on backlinking, keyword research and Google ranking. You'll do just fine.

One bit of a problem, though. On your Stocking Fillers hub, you suggest a Fuzzy Duck drinking game for those "18 and over". Here in the United States, LDA (legal drinking age) is 21. Having worked in the industry for many years, I'm a bit sensitive to this type of thing. Can you please change that "18" to "legal adults" or "those of legal age"? Thanks!

Success or lack of it comes in months not days on Hubpages. You need some patience... sigh.

i wouldn't worry too much about the profile views or the fans just yet, keep building quality content and the visitors will come.

Also, cool beans comes from Manchester, but became popular in America :p

I do have a gripe about the Legal drinking age post, if you want to put 18 years or older, then it applies to most of the world outside America, you do not have to cater for one country.  Just like we would not state the legal age for smoking, just because the United Kingdom recently raised it's legal smoking age.

If you have any queries about the amazon program get in touch with me, oli (the number 4) uk@gmail.com  (if i am not allowed post emails here please delete) and I will guide you through the process as much as I can!
