I doubt it will be in 2012.
Simply because it's been predicted so much by man.
The Word says God only knows.  So it will be in His timeframe;  no use us worrying about it except to make sure we're ready to face our Maker.

Honestly it is the most ridiculous thing I have heard they said the same thing about the new millenium we would be without electricity, the computers would crash etc. and none of it happened. I am not concerned let the cards fall where they may.smile

It is another way to put fear into millions of people that is what the media enjoys doing and corporate America reaps the benefits because people spend more money due to fear.smile

Let me ask you a question Evans.  Because you are reasonable person even in disagreements; Would you agree that Fear is not just something that is made up?

Would you also agree that fear is a cause to act on something instinctive?  After all, if there was nothing to fear then it would make itself scarce.

In someways, it's like saying... A guy has a gun to my head and is ready to kill me, but I shouldn't fear it because it's just that persons way of getting me to do something or get my money or something.

True, I could go down with or without a fight, people don't respond in fear if there is no reason to fear.  I do not know about 2012, we'll see when we get there but to me, there is something to fear.

Will the world end, I dunno...prolly not... I would fair on the side of prolly not but knowing that billions of people do fear something has my guard up because, like we know, when people are scared they loose a lot of reason. (double understanding implied)  when people are scared they loose a lot of reason.

Here's a thought - if we were to live AS IF the world was going to end in 2 years or less - would it be better or worse?  I think worse because most people would think - hey, do whatever, the worlds gonna end - So I'm saying, whether or not you believe its gonna end - behave as if it is going to last forever and that means we have to clean up our act and make it a better place to keep living in!  And that's my thought for the new year!  big_smile:

The people who made that calendar that ends at 2012 have long been dead, right? Wiped out. So if they could not foresee their own community getting wiped off the map, why should anyone believe a stupid calendar they made?

The end of the world is going to come and there is nothing I can do about it.I can however enjoy every minute of life today until it comes. I could be hit by a car tomorrow and the way people drive around here that is more likely. I didn't hold my breathe during the y2k and I don't plan on it in 2012.

They also said it in the 60's and the 80's and the 90's.....
They claim that the end is near when there is famine and wars and hunger and climatic changes---and that all has been happening since day one.

Someone somewhere is always predicting the end. Eventually someone will be right just by chance.

Who will they share their moment of glory with? It's no fun if you can't say "I told you so!"

  21. mega1 profile image80

But seriously folks - I read somewhere that when all these different prophets were prophesying the END OF THE WORLD  the definitive phrase was "AS WE KNOW IT"  meaning that huge global changes would occur that would change forever the way we live together on the planet - not that the planet would just END!  So that could be true, actually, at least it seems to me  . . .

I think it's more useful to talk about the end of the "age" rather than the end of the "world." Even if we end up destroying ourselves...I think we'll still at least leave the world behind. wink
