One look & I found Bubblews is just full of air

   I used to work with a guy, who within the first five or ten minutes of the day would say, "I hate it here." He said that day after day. How do you stay positive in an environment like that? As a new employee I didn’t say anything to Mr. Negative and I sought out positive colleagues. But we shared an office common area and I saw him all the time. Finally, I asked this guy to keep his thoughts about the job to himself. Eventually he did, but we never were that close from that point on.
   
   I find myself in a similar situation here at Hubpages. I realize I’m a newbie. In the past four months I really felt a home here. It’s a very congenial and supportive environment.
   
   I know I don’t have the same perspective as longtime Hub writers. I’m too new to reap some of the financial gains many of you have pocketed. And I don’t feel the economic pain many of you have discussed.
   
   I realize I don’t know the history here. So maybe I should remain mute. But I’m really tired of the “Hubpages is changing so let’s leave and head over to Bubblews” refrain that’s permeated many of the forum posts.   
    
   OK. Tonight I decided to jump over to Bubblews and see what all this buzz was about. Boy! I was so shocked. The quality and the depth the articles there is dreadful. And the writing and grammar is horrendous! I admit I found a jewel here or there, but dribble far outweighs quality on that site.
   Don’t believe me? Here’s a sample of the new Bubblews I found there at about 2 am (EDT) Monday morning:

   • Manny Pacquiao Bankrupt?
   • How Do We Track Our Traffic?
   • How To Use The Apostrophe
   • Freaks and Geeks & Undeclared
   • We Dined on Chicken Accidental
   • My Last Breath-
   I thought the last article would be thought provoking. But I never got past the first sentence, which said: “I'm thinking about what do a dying person say to their last breath?” [My right hand is raised.] I swear it said that!
   
   From what I’ve read here I understand the money at Bubblews is very good. Sorry! I don’t want to just pursue the almighty dollar if means I have to forgo the quality and the serious examination of topics I find at Hubpages. I’d rather stay with my new Hub family and see what the future brings.

      There definitely is a lot of trash there! However, not all the material here is all that great, really.  Before the QAP drive, there used to be a lot of illiterate trash here.
      
      Also just because there is a lot of trash there, doesn't mean the you can't go over there and post good stuff.  You can connect with other people who also make quality posts and insulate yourself from the trash.  And make money.
      
      There is a huge amount of awfulness on FB and twitter.  That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy using both of these sites.

         I wish people would stop comparing HP with Bubblews!  They are two different sites altogether and for different purposes.  I'm not going to defend Bubblews cause I'm too new there yet.  There are those of us who love HP but just disappointed with our earnings right now.  I will never leave HP for my evergreen and in depth articles.

            Bubblews is a social site to a degree that HubPages is not.
            
            Bubblews traffic is generated by members and not Google.  Here, the majority of traffic is Google.
            
            Two different types of sites.
            
            As for quality content, there is plenty there, especially if you connect with ALL of the Hubbers who are also publishing on that site.
            
            As for earnings, let me see.  For August here, well under $20.00 for 80 something hubs.  Bubblews with 60 articles, $175.00.  So there is a difference there as well.
            
            People have told me for months to not put all my eggs in one basket, so I chose to put some in the Bubblews basket.

               Quite the contrast Dale. I noticed the ratio from what I have seen so far appears to be roughly one dollar earned here gives you 10 for your content there.
               
               There are a ton of Hubbers writing at Bubblews, so as you have pointed out it is "who" you connect with! Like everything else ...there is rubbish (but then not everyone is into reading quality content either ).
               
               I am heartened to see a slight uptick here at HubPages and will not leave or move Hubs...but as writers we do need to expand our writing style and explore.The eggs in many baskets applies to many other aspects of life...it is good for competition among sites and good for you as a writer!
               
               As I see it...it isn't an either/or  choice. It is "as well as". There are absolutely a ton of benefits in expanding your readership including having those readers come over here for a peek.  Now isn't that an interesting concept...eh?  Seems to me writers have been doing that for ages (even before the internet) and if everyone is as serious as they say they are about their writing they "should be seeking out" other places to write, period.

   As many have already said, connecting with the right people (many of them hubbers) is key to finding good authors on that site.  By the way...the example of the one about using an Apostrophe correctly was a good post.  I read it and left a comment.  If I remember correctly it was written by a fellow hubber.  The money is good there!  I like both sites for different reasons.

   BubbleWS is not like Hubpages.
   
   BubbleWS started as a "place for people to blog, interact socially like on Facebook, and get paid a revenue share of the advertising".  That's why there's a lot of Mommy-drivel and "I just cleaned out my teenage boy's bedroom and just look at how many mugs I found under his bed".
   
   The site is also populated by people, lots of ex-Hubbers, who have managed to pick their way through that drivel and find like-minded souls ..... and the money's flowing.
   
   When I started at Hubpages there was a lot of similarly poor quality shyte - lots of posts of scantily clad laydeez and smut, porn, smut, filth.  It takes time to clear sites of backlogs of drivel.

   Don't think of Bubblews as an "article writing site." Although you can post articles if you want, the site is really a social media site. In fact, they don't use the term "articles" over there. Think of the Bubblews posts more like something you would put up on Facebook -- something like this: "Guess what? Today I went to Sonic and they have bacon-flavored milkshakes! Who'd a thunk it!! I went ahead and tried one and it was kind of gross and kind of delicious! I can't decide if I liked it or not!"
   
   Then people like or leave comments (just like Facebook). It is just that you get paid at Bubblews and not on Facebook.
   
   Don't think of it as a writing site and you will be a lot less disgusted with it. It is a site that pays you for all your cute or funny Facebook posts.

      Sorry, but I don't view it that way.  I have met some great people over there who are writing meaningful, well written and informative articles.  The money is great and the writing is open, free and fun.  I love HP and still write here.  I keep hoping it will return to its former glory.  However, I have also started a blog just in case.  Needed a few more baskets for my eggs!

      I came here today to check on my hubs and low and behold, ended up unpublishing yet another that HP slapped the noindex tag on for " Not Featured - Engagement".  Another one for the blog.
      
      Now, at Bubblews I would never have anything I posted that did not stir up some engagement, lol, plenty of likes and comments.

      And.... for doubters.... that not only got submitted, but won a prize place in a big post by a really great writer on the site too.
      
      It's SO much fun over there.
      
      I've got a hub drafted out, but can't drag myself away from 'there' long enough to put it together.
      
      I LOVE what Hubpages gave me; but I am LOVING what Bubble is giving me.

         I was loving what Bubblews was giving me until they stopped paying out. Have not had a payment from them in over a month, they owe me around $250! I've broken no rules and have done nothing to upset them. They sure burst my bubble!

   I will not even reach $2 here this month. Posting once every 2-3 days on Bubblews and commenting on up to five posts by others on the days I am active has brought me to nearly $20 . A typical Bubblews post takes me 5-10 minutes to write. A typical hub takes me anything upwards of 6 hours.

   I just get sick of the US against THEM whiny drivel that gets posted in these forums.  I'm a Hubber and a Bubbler but I can tell you that over on Bubblews I have never interacted with a snarky amateur writer.  I see snarky amateur writers here all the time. 
   
   Besides, according to the CEO of Bubblews, the site is not and should not be compared to any other site on the internet.  It is not a site for writers it is a social blogging site.  It is monetized the same way that Facebook is monetized through paid advertisements that are served to members and not the random user that finds a post through Google.
   
   Take it for what it is... Blogs, the way they were originally intended are in their very nature PERSONAL.  The categories that are on Bubblews are for members to sort out and not for external traffic or any other SEO purpose.
   
   It's a site for all people from all regions of the world... Hubpages claims to be an international site but it frowns deeply on anyone that cannot form a perfect English sentence.  Not so international if you ask me.  I would so rather connect with the real people I find on Bubblews that have real thoughts and feelings to share than the sort you can find on so called writer's sites that share regurgitated information that can be found in a 1000 other places online... and mostly before any hubs because it's rare to see a hub on page one of G.

   It is so refreshing over at Bubblews not to have to spend 2-3 hours writing a Hub:  researching, finding photos to use, finding a video to use,etc.etc.   (you know the drill).  People who complain about low quality of Bubble posts will be surprised if they follow the writings of Hubbers who have gone there.  They are carrying their knowledge and skills right along with them.  I for one am trying very hard to write interesting and informative posts there,  just like I did here.
