My entire Adsense earnings up until the beginning of July have disappeared in a 'balance transfer'. No explanation has been given for this and I've searched right through the help topics on Adsense but can't find a clue as to what's going on. It's taken me over 11 months to accrue around £20, admittedly not a huge amount, but I don't relish the idea of starting again from scratch. Does anyone know what might be going on? Is this standard practice or am I just missing something here?
Hey Amanda, I know there's been some pretty dodgy stuff going on lately over at Google, there's been hundreds of people who have had 'some' money vanish from their accounts, and hundreds more who claim they haven't been paid in up to four months, all of which makes me very concerned. But you're the first I've heard of who has had the whole lot vanish, this usually only happens when they close a publishers account and repay the funds to advertisers (I believe), but you'd have received an e-mail from them had that happened. Sorry that wasn't much help, I'd say contact Google, but apparently that's nigh on impossible.
Thanks MrVoodoo, I looked at the message board on the Google help forum, and there were lots of reports of missing amounts of 10$ or so, but no one with this specific problem. I always imagined that Google was rock solid when it came to stuff like this, and I'm quite concerned that it may not be!
On the 15th of each month if you have over US$100 in your account it will get paid out to you (though it usually gets transfered at the end of the month).
Though you have said you had £20.
When you log in it should show your earnings page for today and below "Today's Earnings:..." is a link that says View payment history
Check that out to see if there is record of the missing funds.
I have looked there already Darkside. Trust me, I must have viewed virtually every page on the site searching for an explanation. The only hope I have is that it might be a mistake. Earlier the amount was shown in brackets on the payment history, and marked as a debit. I looked again just now, and see that it is now appearing as a credit, cancelling out the previous entry, but the amount has still vanished from my totals to date, and the account is showing just the figure earned since the beginning of this July.
Holy Shit, you're right, I've lost a £1000
I know they've been fucking up left right and center over there but WTF!!!!
Jeepers!! That's serious cash! It makes my measly score look quite pathetic. Is there any explanation offered on your account?
Yes, sort of (but not really) they've changed the option from
amount earned: all time
to
Amount earned: since last payment
And there seems to be no way of viewing the all time amount any more, all options have vanished and been replaced by last payment, I like you have not had a last payment, I have been losing more and more trust in Google rapidly, but this?!? And as usual no explanation what-so-ever.
That's exactly the layout that I encountered. Perhaps they're re-jigging the format, but have made a hash of the calculating side of things. I'm not too frantic over the cash as it's only a relatively small amount, but I still don't like to think I've been diddled, especially without an explanation even if it's only a feeble one.
Perhaps, although I haven't had much faith in their solving of problems recently, and as you can imagine I am a little frantic, lol, anyways, I'll let you know if I hear anything or anything changes.
* Strangely nobody else seems to have reported this issue, very odd.
Maybe not everyone checks too often, or perhaps it's a UK problem, but even if that were the case, there are quite a number of UK hubbers now. Certainly a lot more than when I first joined Hubpages.
I have the same problem, as do so many others. Go to the Google adsense forum and you will see complaints on this. GALORE. The complaints are so many, i think google WILL do something about it. Because many are complaining, i feel a bit better about it.
Try this link.
The "Choose date range" has "all time" in there.
Cheers for that Darkside, yes it is still showing in there, which is kind of a relief, however the fact that it seems to think that it's already paid me the £1000 is a little worrying, but I'm hoping that that can be sorted out, although I guess it will mean trying to get hold of Google somehow.
My heart attack has subsided a little for now.
Thanks Darkside, my total is still there, even though everything up until 1st July is showing as a balance transfer in the other reports. Hopefully when I eventually hit the payment threshold I'll still get paid in the normal way. It's still a little worrying though.
Um, you made £1000? I bow in your greatness. (Unless, of course, it took you 10 years to make that much...)
I am also UK based and I appear to have the full amount in my account. However, I still get my moneys quoted in dollars as I didn't trust the transfer system to displaying in pounds to work properly! Hopefully it all gets sorted. Just checked on Twitter as well and can't seem to find any reference there.
Well it appears the money is still there, you just have to check under advanced reports, the 'all time' option is still in there, not sure if this will present a problem when it's time to cash out though.
Thats excellent news! At least you don't have to try and deal with Adsense customer service. Hopefully you will be able to withdraw your money.
I'm guessing you didn't earn that money just from Hubpages! If so I need to ask your advice!
Yep, very good news cheers BristolBoy (as long as I can withdraw it), am just down the road from you in Burnham-on-sea near W-S-M, I was dreading having to try and contact customer service, lol
Um, nope not from HP, I think about £4 from here, lol
I know it well! I shall have to add you to my UK hubbers hub first thing in the morning!
Mr Voodoo, are you earning so much that $1000 is just one month's earnings?
I have mine set to pay as soon as I hit the threshold. I don't like the idea of letting Google hold on to my money, when there's always a risk of something going wrong.
She's totally right on this- don't use Google as a bank - make sure you get what you are owed - this goes double for paypal - never run a high balance in that account either
Please explain? I've left some money in Paypal because it's in US dollars and I don't want to incur the cost to transfer it to my bank account - Murphy's Law dictates that the minute I do, I'll want to buy something off eBay!
There is a response on the Adsense forum here
Google Help > AdSense > Discussions > Payments
which says:
Please be assured that the earnings are still in your account. The line 'Earnings (Jul, Balance Transfer)' only indicates that these earnings have been 'transferred' from the previous reporting currency to the new one. This amount will be included in any future payment you receive.
I thought it was just an internal transfer by Google as many in the UK (including me) changed currency. This seems to confirm it.
Phew! That's good to know. I was beginning to suspect that that might be the case when I saw fellow Brits were having the same problem, but it did have me flustered when I first saw my money vanish!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I checked in here and I've just checked my balance, it seems I've built up way over the minimum for automatic withdrawal to PayPal but I haven't received anything, I've also checked through Google AdSense website and it's not showing that my Hubpages is...

Is google adsense only paying for clicks and not impressions? My adsense earnings have almost gone down to nothing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Okay, today I have noticed drastic decrease in page impressions and record low earnings in my adsense account. I had not thought before today that google algorithm change will have such a effect on our traffic and earnings. Today, I find myself what I was three years back. Only a few cents per...

I know that you go to your affiliate settings to see your google earnings, and I can see aug-oct when I look in payment history, but I can't see november. Does it only do 3 months at a time or something? Or am I not looking in the right place?
