Can't keep up wanting to leave comments

How do you do it?  I am now averaging 100 Hub published notices a day.  I want to leave comments as Hubbers do for me.

Picking a certain amount or choosing a few per day is not a solution for me.  Most of these published Hubbers find the time to leave me a comment.

So what's a Hubber to do for comment time management  - they build so fast, I am overwhelmed within a few hours.

    Thanks

    Hubber having trouble,

I start by looking at my referrals for the past week, have they published any hubs, then I comment on those.  They're new and need most encouragement.

I'm still relatively new but what I do is I only read Hubs that interest me and that I think I can make a useful comment on. There are way too many new Hubs to be able to read all the hubs of people that you have fanned. They must have some common interests otherwise you probably would not have fanned them in the first place. Many of them will write hubs on topics that don't interest you.
Wait until they write something that is of interest to you then your comments will be genuine instead of just a "Thanks for sharing". That's a dead give-away that you have just left a comment for the sake of doing so.

That's my opinion, anyway (for what its worth).

I only fan people who make Hubs where I'm really interested in all that they write about.  I'm not the fan of too many people as a result.

And I get the digest notices, which really makes it easier to see which Hubs I might want to read.

I use Saturday & Sunday to go through all the hubs in my inbox, if I don't have time to comment I at least give it a thumbs up rating!

I've noticed people like Mark Knowles who have hundreds and hundred of hubs usually respond to several commenters at one time. Sometimes the response if very brief, but the point is he acknowledges those who read and respond. I think that as you increase your traffic, hubs and commenters, it's like everyone who enjoys a following. You learn to be efficient, creative, and when you do the best you can, that's enough.

I think it's important to remember your primary purpose here. We have different reasons for being here. It's nice to leave comments but not necessary after each commenter. We all appreciate comments, but I find it rather counter-productive to comment after each comment. I think most hubbers understand. smile

I agree with that. I really try to acknowledge comments, but between my full-time job and freelance work, it's difficult to find time! Along with that, I generally try to read 2-3 hubs a day, but again, there are so many hours in the day. But let it be said that I do appreciate comments and hope that others appreciate it when I say something about their hubs.

You could write less interesting stuff! Then people wouldn't leave comments for you.  You could bore everybody - hehe - but, no, I guess you couldn't!  I am astounded at some of the great comments and replies I get from hubbers who have thousands of readers.  I guess people just type fast!  Anyway, if you don't respond to my comments I'll forgive you.

    SoftCorn that was hilarious!

I read the most while I'm in bed. I pick the first one and just start, then when I can't see straight anymore, it's usually time to sleep. Different methods for different people, I guess. Just don't feel guilty,  you read and comment on what you can and that's all anyone can ask.

A thumbs up rating is a good idea, if you just can't find time to comment.

I'm new and like to comment a lot, especially on hubs newbies write.  As you already know, benefits accrue to the person commenting, as well as to the one who authored the hub.

I have no system.  I just do what I can when I can.  I usually try to respond to all comments, sometimes let two or three build and respond all at once, and sometimes never return to comment.  When I read other people's Hubs I always rate if I think it's good, but I don't always comment.  If I don't have genuine thoughts to add I'm not always comfortable with the old, "good Hub".  If I thought it was REALLY good I'll comment, and occasionally I'll write a big, long, comment if the subject "inspires" it.  Of course, I don't have a "system" for writing Hubs either.  I do what I have time for and what I'm in the mood for.  The only thing I'm consistent with is rating good Hubs up.  Other than that, it's all willy-nilly.  hmm  I try not to bring my "Type A Personality" leanings to HubPages.  A person has to be willy-nilly with something in life.  lol

I sometimes skip the contents of a hub that I may be interested in and scroll to read the comments before I go back up to read the hub because sometimes I find that the comments actually can be more valuable than the hub itself! In summary, however you do it, please leave comments or I might find myself having to read entire hubs!
