    Why did you purchase one?

What features do you use the most?

Would you ever go back to a PC?

    thank you ~~

I love that it is virtually immune to viruses and worms. When I had a PC I had to 'debug' it every couple of months and clean it up, even with antivirus software--something was always going wrong no matter what I did. But my Mac never has so much as a burp.

I would never go back to a PC.

yes, I've heard this. both of my sons have them and wouldn't go back to a pc. plus they use it for composing music/graphic, etc.

I'm thinking of making the switch for a christmas gift and want to hear how writers use it, if it works better. I also love the slide show and ease of using photos.

    thanks smile

I love that it always works unlike my PC.  I still don't know what Win32 error or running out of virtual memory means, and now I don't have to.

Both my pc and my mac work fine and I've no particular preference in application (even though the pc does need a bit more TLC). However, my imac is very pretty and compact. It's very shallow and almost meaningless in logical discussion, but I love my imac because it's prettier! smile

I love love love my mac. I got a Mac Book. Being a college student I needed a laptop that was relatively inexpensive, super reliable and easy to use. I paid $900 (after a $99 student discount) then I got a free iTouch iPod, and a printer. I have loved it ever since. I got the applecare warranty. The only problem I had was cosmetic ( I cracked the base next to the mousepad) I took it into the store and they fixed it right there, brand new keypad, and gave it back to me. I love it, I don't think I'll ever go back to pc smile When I use my pc at work I hate it.

One really picky complain I have with my Mac is I still haven't found a Solitaire app that I like as much as the one on my PC. I just want a basic one with no frills but haven't ever found one.

    No biggie though.

I have a laptop and and iMac, both Macs. They ARE prettier! lol!

I've got an imac desktop (24" screen) which is my current beau, but I do yearn for the air laptop, against stiff competition from some very nice Sony pc laptops. I'll dither a good while yet! smile

And as Colebabie's brought it up, the iTouch/iPhone must surely be the sexiest hand held device you can currently buy?

I gave it to my sister. I already had an iPod. As far as sexy? Eh, doesn't matter to me smile

that sounds ideal. I see many people using one at the coffee shops, etc. perfect for students or someone who goes out to consult/meet a client. that was nice of you to give the itouch to your sister. smile

My kids grew up with Apple-- the first computer experiences they had in school, so they always had Macs. I learned about computers from them and have had Macs ever since.
I like the iMac for its space-savingness (and yes it is pretty). The built in camera is nice to video chat with the kids and grandkids. I always felt that it was user friendly and  logical in the way it works.

I hope Apple comes out with a notebook model soon that isn't too expnsive.
Oh, and I could not go back to a pc-- because I've never had one.

rochelle, you are right, my sons also grew up on apples while in school, had pc's then bought their own macs.

the cheapest notebook I saw was 999.

my sons do this crazy bubble effect on the video chat. hilarious.

i've got the macbook pro, and all i can say is it's fantastic.  rebekah, if you do anything with photos, it's got iphoto in it, but i highly recommend the aperture application.  unless, of course, you decide to spring for photoshop cs4.

I love the imac! It is quick, almost never freezes, has no issues with pop ups and viruses.I also like to the iphoto app and imovie app. I'm not an expert but was able to set up a web site with iweb very quickly.
But now that I have found hubpages I hardly ever update the web site!

Of course it is also extremely cool and that never hurts!

I've been a Mac user for a long time. I purchased it out of frustration with my PC bogging down with malware and such. What the iMac is to desktop computers, the iPhone is to cell phones. One is just cooler than the other. I've had this iMac for 5 years. I reboot it about once a week. Other than that, it stays on--no problems, no malware, no hassles.

The integrated apps are what I use most. iPhoto, iMovie, etc. I would never go back to a PC.

yes, I do plan to work with photos and also videos. I sometimes work on my sons's but want my own with all of my own pics, music, etc.

thanks for the great comments, everyone. love to hear why you all love your macs.

I liked the all-in-one design, so I bought an iMac.   And I wanted a good music computer.  I probably use itunes, photobooth and the DVD player most.   I like its portability.  It offers good security too. Nothing else for me but Mac.

    No going back
    Forever Mac!
