By Wayne Allyn Root, June 6th, 2010

Barack Obama is no fool.  He is not incompetent.  To the contrary, he is brilliant.  He knows exactly what he's doing.  He is purposely overwhelming the  U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama was my college classmate ( Columbia  University , class of '83).  As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at  Columbia  University.  They outlined a plan to socialize  America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.

Add up the clues below.  Taken individually they're alarming.  Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government.  Why not?  They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care.  The health care bill had very little to do with health care.  It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).  Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt.  What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government.  Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

-- Cap and trade.  Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming.  It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors.  Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants.  They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power.  The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

-- Make  Puerto Rico a state.  Why?  Who's asking for a 51st state?  Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression?  Certainly not American taxpayers.  But this has been Obama's plan all along.  His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants.  Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt  America .  But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government.  Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

-- Stimulus and bailouts.  Where did all that money go?  It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country.  It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues.  It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).  A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues).  All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting  America .  The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful.  The ends justify the means.

-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators.  Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).  Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my  Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

                                True per Snopes!

Equally amazing and frightening that any silver-tongued "inspired", gifted speaker who promotes "hope" and "change" can do the same. There is an impressive list throughout history. Hitler and Reagan were both such silver-tonged people, as were JFK and FDR.

No, actually, he is in the pockets of the banksters just like the Pubtards. It isn't socialism, it is crony capitalism, not free market capitalism, which is ruining America. You guys are so gullible.

You can sure tell that elections are coming up soon!!!

I  see so many right wingers spewing so many inuendos without any actual facts to back them up!

This OP's rant reminds me of the Obama family church accusations!

When are some of  you died in the wool rightwingers going to realize that it doesn't matter which party is in office.  They all answer to the central bankers of the world and the hidden government that pulls the strings?

Both democrats and republicans bow before the almighty federal reserve and it's enforcement arm,  (the IRS).

You claim to want the best for your country, but manage to keep the fires of discontent burning,  Why not put as much effort into exposing the real
people that enslave us through taxation as you do feeding into their mis-direction ploys?  We are forced to use a debt building monetary system just to have a medium of exchange.

The nation needs your help, not either bought and paid for political party!

Classmates can be sneaky mofos can't they? I suspect little root boy has a complex and his insecurities and envy has prompted this bout of tedium.

It's a good job no one believes him.

Thanks for the snopes link, Sparkling Jewel.
This quote is correctly cited to Wayne Allen Root.

Mr. Root was the 2008 Libertarian candidate for vice president. He is a regular on Fox News and the author of books including "The Conscience of a Libertarian: Empowering the Citizen Revolution with God, Guns, Gambling & Tax Cuts" (not quite sure where the "gambling" part fits in. Could be that he is in Las Vegas, where he writes a biweekly "opinion" column for the "Las Vegas Review-Journal," which happens to be a conservative newspaper).

In short, Mr. Root has every right to express his opinion, which is naturally informed by his libertarian political stance. As a reader of this information, I do what my Mama always told me: "Consider the source."

  3. Aficionada profile image78
    Aficionadaposted 13 years ago

I didn't read the entire article.  But I did read far enough to see Root refer to himself as Obama's classmate, not his roommate.  Was there a different reference further down in the article?

I am not a supporter of the current administration at all, but I agree with MM's comment, "Consider the source."  I also tend to believe that any extremist views and comments need very careful and thoughtful evaluation.

  4. Never_Forget profile image60
    Never_Forgetposted 13 years ago

I don't think the source really matters when the important facts that were laid out are all true. Classmate or not, the things Obama is doing to our country is frightening.

  5. Ralph Deeds profile image64
    Ralph Deedsposted 13 years ago

Correcting Sparkling Jewel's innaccuracies and exaggerations would be a fulltime job. What you have here is double or triple hearsay--a libertarian's account of a libertarian's opinion of Obama's beliefs.

  6. Mighty Mom profile image77
    Mighty Momposted 13 years ago

How can we trust the facts to be true when the source is so obviously biased? These are not "facts" but interpretations of motives behinds actions. They were printed in what is admittedly an "opinion" piece. If you don't know the difference between journalistic reporting and an opinion column, look it up.

"...the things Obama is doing to our country is frightening."
People who come to a writing community and expect to be taken seriously should be able to write a simple declarative sentence. Sloppy grammar = sloppy logic.

I think he is right in this article, I have thought for a while now about what is happening. I hope I am wrong, but...

He is organizing his group of thugs...Chicago style, by manipulating mass voters. What he is - he is in the Pockets of Bankers, looking to make a Closed Business group that controls all of the economy, ( we have all heard the term super banks and corporations that can not be allowed to fail)

His agenda is two part. He has to have money to pull it off, so Give the Money people what they want, and then they give Him what he wants.

an elete (so called) corporate class in total control. If he does that successfully, then he satisfies his investors, and in turn they let him run amuck with his social agenda. (they finance it for him…example George Soros and his foundations) It is the On-slot of the Corporate Unionized State.

Its super rich getting power over all the economy, and in turn  He gets a social regime as a reward.  In others words we go to a structure where There is one Money Block that Owns Washington DC, and they Become the Dictators to control the Government, which in turn  the Government becomes the Dictators that control us.

To us it is made to look like the Government is in control, but in truth DC will owe its existence, with power to  determine your Job and pay and class, under  total Government control;  telling you your every move.( what to teach, to eat, quotas for college and tech schools, what to sell on the world market…all of it)

But in a cleverly disguised way- A delicate (so-called) mix of balance, not full Communism as in Russia. Or full Socialism, but a mix of Capitalism and Communism. It is an Idea Harvard and Columbia have taught now for years. And we are sitting back allowing it.

Mass distribute a small amount of wealth to fool the lower classes, make it look like all are better off and get the votes and re-votes,  then establish absolute controls, through the courts, by bypassing the Constitution.

Thus allowing Judges to  Legislate from the Bench. So when the rules and Laws that Congress and the Senate  pass are challenged, the Courts are loose (free) to act as legislators to make free interpretation. Thus legal challenges can be defeated, and what ever Congress and the Senate do remains in place

This way the Legislative Branch is owned by the Corporate State, via the Courts allowing it,  and in return The Executive Branch has the most power. Thus, we become slaves to the money and jobs under Government control, so if we do not do what we are told,  our life is miserable, and we want to feel safe- taken care of, so we follow blind and fit in until it becomes automatic behavior.

Cloward and Piven have been teaching this for years, and Columbia and Harvard have lead the way with radical Teachers who are Communist Party Members, registered as and allowed to Teach via Constitutional right.  Every easily influenced college Kid, like myself included, with enough money to attend the Schools have hit this trap willingly.  We need to wake up people, we are psychologically and physiologically manipulated, with ease.

God help us if this happens, I think we are beginning to have this now.

Columbia University has 23,000 students. Any of the alumni who attended in the years Obama was there might call themselves 'classmate' - which is all the author claims here. He does NOT claim he was Obama's 'roommate' or supply any evidence that he was personally aware of Obama's political philosophy - or even that he KNEW 'classmate' Obama. The title of the OP is deceptive - be it deliberate or accidental but Sparkling Wingnut has never been overly concerned with the truth in the quest to land a cheap shot on Obama or liberals.
