   Maybe I could survive, but I wouldn't be happy about it. I could go back to the time when the was electricity and indoor plumbing, but not further than that.

   The short answer is yes, I can survive. I believe all of us have the natural, built in ability to survive if we have to. The question then becomes a matter of our attitude. Are we going to act like spoiled brats or are we going to cowboy up and do what needs to be done for survival? When the need for survival comes knocking on our door we need to be prepared. Conveniences such as the cell phone, GPS navigation, and food stores on every corner will be a thing of the past. Without electricity we will have to improvise. We should ask ourselves questions like, do I know how to make fire without matches? Do I know how to find and sanitize water? Can I build a shelter? Am I proficient in hunting so I can eat? Do I currently have food storage for an emergency? What about personal and family security? We must constantly take a personal and family inventory on our survival skills. By doing this we can take proactive measures for our family and others in the case of a survival emergency.

   Yes!  I grew up in the Northern Californian mountains with no electricity, telephone, TV, or indoor plumbing.  It wasn't a big deal, except I loved popsicles and could only get them when we went into town.

   No, I will not be able to survive without modern conveniences as now I am used to them and my work depends upon them. Now it will be difficult for me to do without them.

   I don't think I could. Even if modern people tend to remember past times with that precious human wisdom and that premitive human spirit, few people could survive from that society with pure beauty and savage fight.

   Any one could "survive" without those types of things, but not many people would want to.   I would be okay without my computer, tv, or even my phone for a few days maybe.  I love to read so I would just spend my days reading by myself or reading books to my son.  But i like to be on the computer (especially on hub pages. (: )  so I would want to be on.  But I don't HAVE to be.

   I would be able to do without many of the gadgets and modern conveniences, but I would really not be able to do without some. I would not be able to do without electricity. I need it to be able to read- atleast that, if I am not allowed anything else. I would be able to survive, yes, you can survive if you have some food and clean water to drink, but survive as the dictionary defines it is no more enough for us. Just to be alive and blinking, is not what would keep me physically or mentally healthy. So, I would need my laptop to stay tuned to the world.

    I personally love my modern conveniences. I however also love the simple life. I have lived without electricity before and it was great. Yes I missed the computer and cell phones, modern stoves etc. The simple life was however very peaceful.

    I have done it. It was an interesting time, we went to sleep early, read a lot and did a lot of gardening. It was necessary in order to eat. I also did a lot of canning and preserving. I did enjoy it. We used oil lamps after dark and used the wood stove for heat and cooking. I traded with my uncles for meat. They wanted the veggies and my cooking. Bachelor ranching great-uncles actually. They also had milk cows. I had chickens.

    yes.............done so,...................years ago, as a child , growing up!
    Still know how to make ash  (lye soap)
    Wash the clothes in the spillway, and hang them to dry......
    
    Down the deer and dress her meat...........

    I think it is not possible. We cant think without electricity like mobile phone. Can you imagine a day without mobile phone?

    Yes, we could survive without electricity and other modern conveniences. A good example is the people from past. They had lived a good life even without having electricity and other modern conveniences.

    I would like to think I could survive, but I'm not sure I'd have a good attitude about it, especially being a woman, who would end up with all of the extra "fun" work of keeping everything clean, fires going, meals prepared etc. We have so many things that we take for granted in this age, I think it would be exceedingly difficult and to be able to do it well, you would have to be introduced to it incrementally, coming from the 21st century and all the modern conveniences we have.  Great question!
