Which of the following holidays is your favorite?
Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas?
Noooo! How could I possibly choose?!?!? Well, if I absolutely must, then it would definitely have to be Thanksgiving. It is a day of celebration and to give thanks for everything we have in this world. A day where families and friends get together for no other reason than to spend time with each other over a good meal. Halloween is fun with the costumes and the candy, but at the end of the day we have made it all about the chocolate and most people probably don't even know the origins of the holiday. Similarly with Christmas, it is the celebration of the birth of Christ, but department stores have destroyed the spirit of the holiday for many and now it is all about the presents.
Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays left that isn't about what you get from someone, but what you can contribute to others. I love the smell in the house while preparing Thanksgiving dinner and sharing it with close family and friends.
Without a doubt, Halloween. It's the only time of the year I can get dressed up and scare the crap out of people without going to jail for it. Also, the good houses give out Snickers.
We don't really celebrate Thanksgiving here in SA, or do anything for Halloween...so for now it's Christmas. Although we've decided to start our own Thanksgiving tradition this year - quite excited!
Christmas because of the family time, but Halloween would be first if I did something spectactular. I'm trying to get more decorations, outfits, and really am trying to make it a better holiday in my home.
Christmas! I am a huge fan of the winter season to begin with. I love watching my kids eyes light up during that time of year! To me its the best time of the years
I really enjoy Christmas the most. First of all, as a student, the break from school during Christmas is by far the longest, which already probably would put it at number 1 on my list. Besides the commercialization of the holiday, Christmas has always revolved around family, and I appreciate it more and more as I get older.
Christmas - there's always something magical about that time of year.
Thanksgiving.........
Not only for the "apparent" reasons...........but, because, it somehow
seems to be the less "polluted."
giving..........without expecting something in return
I was thinking the same thing just now.....you don't have to go out and buy a bunch of gifts. So many people get into credit card debt around Christmas and they feel the pain come January.
It's a tie between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I lean more towards Thanksgiving. Both revolve around food and celebrations and family, but Christmas is more for families with children.
Christmas!! It is the most happiest time of the year and everyone seems to be in an upbeat mood. Everywhere you go there are lights and presents that give the holiday a warm feeling.
I enjoy Thanksgiving the most because it was always the time when my whole family used to get together. Not to mention I love the food aspect of it all. It wasn't until I got older that I really started to focus on how much I had to be thankful for, but that also plays a huge part in why I love it.
Don't get me wrong though. I love the playfulness of Halloween. I love seeing the kids come around in their costumes, and now that my daughter is old enough to trick-or-treat herself, it's taken on a whole new level.
Christmas isn't that big a holiday for me personally, but I do enjoy seeing the look on my daughter's face as she's opening her presents. However, it's the one holiday that seems like the build-up takes forever and then it's over in the blink of an eye.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition? (besides eating turkey!)For the past nine years I was required by my job to work on Thanksgiving.
