Tummy Tuck Exercise For Women After C- Section Or Normal Delivery

Pregnant women the world over wait for their bundle of joy with anxiety and eagerness. A few days into motherhood and then begins the quest for post partum diets and fitness exercises. Questions that crop up in the mind include : How a I ever going to lose the extra weight ? Can I fit into my favorite dress or pair of jeans, ever again? Will I be attractive enough for my husband ? It is indeed common to add some weight during pregnancy as the body tends to retain enough for both mother and the unborn child.

If you are one such mother, do not despair for the body can go back to its original shape provided you stick to a healthy regimen of exercise, staying positive and getting proper nutrition. Yes, even if you have had a Caesarian delivery or had a pair of twins. It all depends on you, with guidance of course from your doctor. In the first 2-3 weeks post pregnancy, you will lose some weight by urination and perspiration. The extra fluids administered as IV fluids during labour will be lost in this manner.

Pregnancy took 9 months of your life, it is only wise for you not to undergo any strenuous fitness exercises too soon or undertake any crash diets which will be detrimental to your and the baby's health. Patience and perseverance ultimately pays off with support from your family. Always remember that your body took all that time during pregnancy to develop for your safe delivery . It also means that it will need time to go back to its size shedding the extra kilos.

Breastfeeding : Some women shy away from breastfeeding their child thinking their breasts will sag. Well, let me tell you the benefits of breastfeeding.

  1. First and foremost, it strengthens the bond between mother & baby. The baby needs the closeness.
  2. The great news is that you burn about 500 calories in a day if you breastfeed your baby. The longer you choose to breastfeed, the better.
  3. Breastfeeding your child also serves to contract the uterus and helps you get back in shape by about 6 weeks.
  4. Onset of ovulation is delayed which means you do not need to use contraceptives while still breastfeeding your baby for atleast six months post delivery.
  5. Incidence of developing breast cancer, ovarian and uterine cancers are lower among women who have breastfed their babies.
  6. Post partum depression does not set in for a mother who breastfeeds.

Eat Nutrient Dense Foods : Fibre containing whole grain cereals, fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy products, lean beef or poultry and eggs must be taken on a daily basis.

Keep Yourself Hydrated : Drink atleast 10-12 glasses of water a day to flush out the toxins in the body . Never opt for high sugar beverages and sodas.

Avoid Processed or Canned food : These contain preservatives that give it longer shelf-life but these also contain sodium.

Strictly Avoid Junk Food : Fast food or junk food are the worst enemy to a healthy lifestyle. These are high in sodium, saturated fats and sugars which make you addictive and, you guessed it, make you gain more weight that is not going to be easy for you to shed.

Healthy Snack options such as plain popcorn, wheat crackers, raisins and nuts can be kept handy. But make sure you do not overeat.

Begin Exercising Slowly when you think you are upto it and step it up steadily . You can go out for 10 minute walks, and gradually increase time and distance for upto an hour. You may want to split it into two 30 minute walks.

A healthy balanced diet coupled with exercise will definitely serve you in good stead for that fit and healthy body. And remember your baby will thank you for being a fit and healthy mother. You see, you are the first point of contact with the outside world for your baby and you need to make wise and informed choices for both yourself and your baby.
