How to Embed Links into Your Hubs

If you want your Hub to link to other Hubs or an external webpage, you have three options:

Option 1: Insert a hyperlink directly into text in a Text Capsule:

1. To do this, open the editing window of your Text Capsule.
2. Highlight the portion of your text you would like to turn into a hyperlink.
3. Click on the chain icon.
4. Enter in the URL of the webpage or another Hub to which you would like to link this text. You also have the option to select one of your own Hubs, an Amazon product, or someone else's Hub from one of the available tabs- this saves you the trouble of cutting and pasting the URL from another page into this window.
5. Click "insert" and the text will be hyperlinked.
6. When you are finished adding links to your text in the Text Capsule, simply click "save."

Option 2: Use the Links Capsule- this capsule consists only of links and allows you to share a series of titled links in list form:

1. To use the Links Capsule, click on its icon.
2. Click "edit" on the capsule.
3. Give it an optional subtitle.
4. Add links either by cutting and pasting unique URLs into the text bar and clicking “add link” OR by searching for a specific keyword on HubPages, and selecting related Hubs to which you can link.
5. Every time you select a link, you have the option to edit the link’s URL, title, and description. When you are finished editing, click "done." If you want to edit these details at a later time, you can do so by clicking "edit."
6. If you want to change the order of your links, drag and drop them with your mouse.
7. When you are finished entering everything, click “save.”

Option 3: HubPages gives you suggestions on the best internal HubPages links to add to your Hub:

1. While signed in to your account, but not in edit mode, go to one of your Hubs. In the top black status bar, you will see a link titled, “suggest links.”
2. Click on this link and you will notice an instructions box. This box will tell you your HubKarma score and give you directions for this linking tool. HubKarma is a score that reflects the degree to which you link to others' Hubs and to Topic pages in your own Hubs. Linking to relevant, high quality Hubs and Topic pages can improve your reader's experience. You can easily do so using our Linking Tool. HubKarma has some influence on your Hubber Score and is on a 0-100 scale.
3. Next, highlight a word or phrase in your text that you would like to turn into a link. You will now see another box pop out with a list of suggested links within HubPages for the particular highlighted keyword (or phrase- up to six words). If you hover over one of the links, an example of the Hub you may want to link to will pop out.
4. If you see a Hub that would improve your Hub’s contents, click on the plus sign to the left of the link and the link will be embedded in your Hub!
5. To undo the link, click on the "edit" button in the black box, edit the text box that has the link, highlight the link, and click the “broken link” icon.
6. If you want to quit getting suggestions, just click the “stop suggesting links” button in the black status bar.
