    What exactly is this plant?

Recently I've seen this plant which looks to be a creeper of some sort in my garden. Can you identify it? I have a photo which shows leaves, and other identifying (hopefully) parts like a big bulbous looking object. It only started growing not too long ago.

I don't know what it's called, but we have it here too. It winds and twists around everything and is almost impossible to get rid of. I recommend pulling it out before it winds around your pretty ground cover smile

It looks like a type of bindweed...either hedge bindweed or field bindweed. A close-up picture of the leaves and flower will better help determine what it is.

The photo is larger than HP is able to display here, so I uploaded it to imgur for you: http://i.imgur.com/53PPaEe.jpg

I think I agree with TheExaminer-1. Looks like Araujia sericifera. It does not grow within my region of the world, so it was interesting to learn about it. Seems to be quite the noxious weed in some areas of the world. Thanks for sharing!

Bit hard to judge from the small photo, but going by the bulbous thing (it's seed pod) and by the shape of what I think is its white flower, my best guess would be Moth Plant (Araujia sericifera), although I'm not familiar with the flora where you live so it could be a different species in the same or a related genus.

It looks quite similar, yes. I did a quick search online for it. Here's a bigger picture of it: http://i.imgur.com/53PPaEe.jpg

If you have Master Gardeners in your region, they may be able to identify this plant. Otherwise, your best best is to check with the University Extension in your county.

It's been suggested to me that I should take it to the local nursery. They might know.

I do not remember the name but I believe that I had this when I lived in NJ. I agree with what ExpectGreatThings said. Get rid of every piece of it and always keep an eye out for new growth of it so that you can get rid of any more right away.
