    how can i make my dad do what i want ?

    i would want my dad to love the guy that i love and break up the engagment between me and the guy he picked for me

    If this is an arranged marriage, you may not have much success since, as you know, those who believe in arranged marriages are usually very staunch in their belief.

    I think your best hope will be to sit down with your father and reason with him.  Tell him how much you love this boy and how much he means to you.  Point out that you could never be happy married to someone you don't love.  Ask him if there are reasons, other than this boy was not picked by your family, that he dislikes your choice.  Give your father time to express his views also. 

    If the talk becomes heated, take a break or even resume it the next day.  Don't antagonize your father, it won't work to your advantage.

    One hint - write your points down so you don't get taken off track.
