Cajunrooster, I accidentally deleted your answer when trying to comment. I was not trying to be unkind. If you will repost, I will be more careful. I agree with you that we should be kind to each other.
Peeps, how do you determine the undeserving
I determine based on how they treat others. I live my life treating others how I would like to be treated until those people show they choose to treat others badly. rapist, abusers, and habitually rude people for example.
While I am an optimist, I am also a realist. I've been kind to many who made the effort to be mean or cruel for no reason. Perhaps kindness is best given to people who can at least exhibit it once in a while or pay it forward?

I just read about your home. You speak with such grace, especially given what you have gone through. Sounds like you are kind to everyone.
I know the feeling Create!
It is so true that some people take kindness for weakness and then they take advantage.
No one needed keys. Neighbors were very watchful. You knew the names of everyone on the block. I have lived i the same place for 10 1/2 years and know two of my neighbors.

Interesting answer. Rich/poor and privileged/underprivileged has to do with resources. I guess kindness is an intangible resource.
