Losing their love for you. You may not lose the person but it hurts when you know that he/she loses his/her love to you.....

Losing their love!! It is worser than losing the person. Well said by Thelma Alberts.

By losing the person you love you mean death? If yes, then I'm more afraid of losing the one I love than losing their love for me.

If you Love and know you are loved why would anyone want to mess that up?  Love isn't random neither is everyone fortunate enough to experience true love in a life time.  Respect and appreciate who loves you.....If you can't do that---> don't expect love to come around a second time knocking at your front door, because if you couldn't appreciate it once, you definitely won't appreciate or respect it again!

Oooo!  Good one!  Um... maybe losing his love for me.  That would mean he no longer wants to give his whole heart to me.  It would also mean something really, really bad has happened and that I perhaps have hurt him and have negatively affected his respect for me as well, which is very big/bad.  To physically have him there but not have his heart, trust, respect, and love would hurt more than anything.

I really don't think of love in connection with fear of loss.

We know for a fact that all of us are going to die therefore it's kind of pointless to be "afraid" of losing the person you love. If you are fortunate enough to have a lifetime relationship/marriage it's unlikely you both will die on the same day so it's pretty much a given.

If you are afraid of "losing their love for you" it would seem to indicate to me that you aren't fully immersed in the relationship or you have some doubts concerning their love for you. Maybe they have said or done something which indicated to you that they aren't as emotionally commited to the relationship as you.

Either way when it's all said and done the best way to enjoy life is to live in the moment.

I know how to be alone.........I have spent most of my life in such a state.

To be 'discarded' would be a true torment..........I would always question myself, my abiltiy to relate, to love, to heal, to  nurture, to grow...............

I can lose, easier than I can lose.

Both...living without the person you love and not be love is full of loneliness, emptiness, a life without inspiration that needs much courage to go on in the hope of finding it once again.

Good question...aren't these options equally devastating?  If I had to choose though, I think I would prefer to have him not love me anymore than to have him die.
