because there are more advertisements geared towards women for them. they are also more readily available and can be discreetly ordered via the internet. and lots of women are just curious and others having trouble achieving an orgasm especially considering how many people in general are on anti-depressants which often puts a damper on your natural sex drive

I think because women get bored with just simple sex with your partner. Sometims it's healthy for one to lay back close your eyes enjoy your imagination with your climax being all your control.

@ NYKitten82 the idea of creating oneĀ“s own pleasure is great and can take the pressure off the other partner or intimacy in general. Thanks for your comments
@ultracutebot:I didnt ponder the external influences that can affect a sexual experience. Thanks for this perspective!

The adult industry has responded to the needs of women by producing fantastic designer products, beautifully styled and formed to fit the female body.

Once upon a time sex toys were cheap, nasty, phallic objects which smelt bad, didn't work very well and had no appeal to women at all.

Sex toys have become much more mainstream with less stigma attached to buying them. The internet has also helped a great deal by making discreet purchase an easy option.

Women's sexuality has finally been recognised instead of being secondary to a mans pleasure.

Well Sexuality is becoming more mainstream.  Men are going for porn because they enjoy more visual stimulation.  I think women go for the sex toys because they want more physical stimulation then a finger can provide.
