Why do men cheat on there mates with someone unattractive?

I've never cheated, but have a male friend who did. The woman was slovenly and far less attractive than his wife.  But, the other woman gave him far more attention than his wife--in and out of the bedroom.

Sometimes, it is not the physical attraction that causes a man to cheat.  It isn't even the sex most of the time.  It is the attention.

That being said, I still think it is pathetic that both men and women are capable of cheating.  Counseling sometimes works.

Are you suggesting that women don't?

Women do too. The person they're having a fling with doesn't have to have all the qualities they would usually look for in a partner, it's just an affair, so maybe that's why...

People don't cheat because of "looks".
Most people cheat to fill a need. There are 3 types of cheaters.

    1. The Incessant Cheater (variety is his need)
    2. The Unbelievable Opportunity Cheater (A dream/fantasy)
    3. The Discontented Cheater (Not getting what he wants from home)

The person they're cheating with is fulfilling a need.
The need may vary from having someone desire them, appreciate them, offer to do things their mate won't do, or simply offering them the variety they want.

No one knows what goes on in any relationship.
It's possible for two attractive people to have a sexless marriage. Looks aren't everything!
    You just never know.

I think that this question has been answered very well. I feel sorry for women who think that all they need to do to keep a man is look pretty. When he chooses an ugly duckling to cheat with, the wife is very confused and thinks that the husband has lost his mind. Yes, the man is wrong to do this, but it is good to be wise about cheating.

Men cheat on their mates with someone unattractive because they want something other than good looks. Men often put their trophies on a shelf and stray into other pastures. Besides, what looks pretty to one may not look pretty to another. All men do not need a pretty body to enjoy sex. Whenever I hear someone say, "Men do not go with them because they are not attractive," I sympathize with them because of their ignorance. That is one reason some spouses find themselves shocked at their mate's decisions. Men and women can be full of surprises and very tricky.

Truthfully, there is not anything that a woman can do to stop a determined-to-cheat husband unless she wants to go to prison. The best way to try to get a husband who does not cheat is to marry a man with high morals. Still, that is no guarantee because people do change or claim that they do not know what hit them and caused them to cheat.

We all have known the rich, head-over-heels in love couples to spend as much as $10 million dollars on a wedding "made in Heaven" and a couple of months later one of them is caught in bed with the maid or the husband's best man, who happens to be his uncle. Now, what in the world can be done to stop all of this cheating? When you find out, write a book about it; better yet, bottle it and sell it, billionaire!

Thought to ponder: Who has more babies, the ugly or the pretty? You'd better get wise! Some men would not be caught dead with an ugly woman, but they would sleep with many. Since they could not control death, many men have been caught dead in ugly women's beds. I have heard of a few ugly women having to call the wives to drag their husbands to the morgue. It is a shame that no one can wake up those dead rascals so they can look at their wives as they are hauled away. I do not intend to sound mean, but something needs to be done about cheaters.big_smile
