   The most annoying thing on the internet?
   
   What annoys you the most on the internet?
   
   I'm prompted to ask because of those silly moving adverts that you see on some pages - they are driving me nuts!!! You know the ones where it's usually just a human head jiggling back and forward!! One was so annoying that I had to actually cover the thing with my hand so that I could concentrate on reading the page - but maybe I'm just super-sensitive!

   Those jiggly ads you mentioned are annoying, but even worse are the video ads that automatically start playing, complete with sound. Also I hate pop up ads and links that lead to something completely unrelated to what they claim to be.

      I agree Sherry, it seems that there are very little areas of the internet where you can actually get peace just to read or look at what you specifically came on line for.

      I agree. I also hate those pop up ads with loud blaring music that appear the second you open a site. It then takes a while to figure our how to close it.

      I agree as well. Those video ads that pop-up and start playing are very annoying. They are especially annoying when I am on the computer right after putting my son to bed.

   What annoyed me most are those Pop-up ads on some webpages. Imagine everytime you browse their webpage a new browser will open. It really annoying.

      I agree with you livewirez, as with Sherry above, the pop-ups and the automatic videos that are totally unrelated to the web page. I've also checked boxes stating that I don't want to see a certain ad, and they still come up!!

   It annoys me to no end, that when I'm simply trying to do a search for something, it leads me to all sorts of places trying to sell me something, instead of simply giving me the answer.  As a novelist, I have to do lots of research. I miss the old days of the internet.

   I agree with all the answers! I'm also annoyed at the ads you have to sit through to see a video. I also am tired of searching for something and getting results that are not my exact search words. For instance, I was looking for "round sheets" and would click on a site saying they had round sheets...when I got there, it was full of nothing but round pillows. How can they add Round Sheets to the description when they don't have round sheets? I thought the Google God was suppose to be getting rid of these type of things with  their almighty algorithm changes!

   The most annoying thing on the internet to me is when I am reading my emails or what have you, sometimes the browser will "magically" take me to some other page, of whose content I really couldn't care less about. Ecspecially those credit card advertisements and match-making sites. I mean honestly.

   I agree about the moving ad.  I think popups are annowying.  Then when I do a seacrh and find a link that looks interesting, it either no longer exists or it just contains likes to other ads

   Those flashing or moving pop-ups are annoying, there have been times I've had to cover them with my hand. Another pet peeve is when I start to read an interesting article then up pops a screen to 'sign up'. If I decide want to sign up AFTER reading the article then I will make the decision myself. Usually though I just want to read the interesting article in peace, so when one of these pops up I click straight out of the site and go looking elsewhere without finishing reading.
   I am certain that this is not going to do the 'bounce rate' any good for the author but it doesn't seem to register with them.

   One thing that drove me mad once was while changing from IE to Google Chrome these links snuck in that appeared throughout my HP text, everywhere, to all kinds of pop-up ads and such. Finally figured to go to tools and check add-ons, sure enough, there the sneaky culprit was that had got in during the apps process!

    Ads in front of videos. I just had to watch a stupid ad for RAMS about 16 times trying to look at the superbowl ads on the web. I mean, I'm already about to watch a commercial, why make me watch another one first?  And the same one on every video!  Where's the skip button???
