My first choice is the Beagle--I have three.
The friendliest dogs come from animal shelters. Do not be mislead, animals have emotions, feelings and memories. If they came from a difficult situation, abusive,lost, etc, and you show them love and affection, almost any dog would be a good choice.
I'm going to put in two BIG ones. The St. Bernard & Greater Swiss Mountain. Both have hearts and friendliness as big as their bodies. A good friend has one and my sister has the other.
