    well, am not an expert but i believe it depends on what i want to achieve. If you looking for print designs, then photoshop will do for me. But for most of my online designs, i prefer fireworks..though i must confess its because i find it simpler to use...but like i said, am no expert so dont trust my view!

    It really depends on what you're going to do in graphic designing.  Most graphic designers will use Adobe Illustrator for vector images... but I personally use Adobe Photoshop for any graphic design projects I do.  If i have to do some formatting in Illustrator I will.. but Photoshop is the tried and true program that is a must if you are in the graphic design business.

    Illustration is a whole other ballgame, and other programs come into play there.
