I am theatre person: I have acted, written plays-street plays-dramas, directed too as well as worked as behind the curtain person also.

Since years the stage touch is inside but not participated in theatre as an actor, director; but always been there as a writer, when TV serials are also a field related with that kind of work!

Well, what kind of things will be developed here after recognising the theatre persons? I am eager to know!

Thanks for such posting on forum!

My older son has his own production company in Chicago.  He's produced two plays so far. One was great, his first play, and won a bunch of accolades and a couple of local awards.  The second was just a bad play, but he was praised for his direction.

O.K., I just had to brag a little.  He worked hard for this, went to college, majored in drama, paid his dues in small theatres in New Orleans and Texas before moving to Chicago.  I'm proud of him.

I stumbled into the world of theatre (that's how I spell it too) from the world of music. I've been a stage technician and occasional actor on and off for a couple of decades.

I've consequently stumbled into dance (pun NOT intended, but it's groovy). This ended out helping to create a new branch in my personal Dewey system.

I'm a Hub Pages Newbie, so I'll be checking you out.

What do you mean by theatre people?

    Professional actors?
    Occasional actors?
Patrons, but non-performers, of the art?

Well I like the theatre, and I do like watching a play or musical - or being in one.

If you have to ask, it means you're not one yourself.

I did costuming and makeup for plays a few decades back and even trod the boards when I was a kid a few times.

    "if you have to ask.."

    rude much?

I just wanted to know if he meant people who get paid or not, as I've done plenty of theatre in schools and clubs.

I got what you meant.  You are much more of a theater person than I am if you had been in plays.  I was never in a play, but I wrote a play in middle school that other students acted in.  I am so not a theater person, so I admire those who are.

I was just making a statement, but if you feel like you have to take my comment as some sort of personal attack, there's not really anything I can do about that.

My most theatrical summer was spent as a wardrobe mistress working for Shakespeare Santa Cruz.  The techies who'd been there the summer previous were all lamenting how Patrick Stewart had performed in two shows and loved the festival, but the success of his "new show" (the then-just-debuted ST:TNG) probably would mean he'd never be back.  Turns out, they were right.

Sounds like it was fun!!! I've never really been into the tech side of theatre, other than telling people what I want to have done.

My most theatrical summer was getting kids (including the leads) to a point where they could actually perform a play. I did smile!!! It was well received and the kids continued to do theatre. I also introduced them to improvisation and they loved that too! smile So we did a few fully improvised shows (ALL KIDS!!!) Some of the older ones got pretty good and did quite a few paid (scripted and improvised) shows for me.

I miss it soooooo much! Maybe I'll get back into theatre soon since my Grandmother is now gone. I miss her alot more than theatre though!

I've played in pit orchestras for a few dozen musicals. Never been on stage, though. Always preferred to hide behind a horn.

Workin' out some kinks in the idea phase right now... I'll present the ideas to all who are interested soon! smile
