What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you in an interview?

I'm off to my first job interview in over twenty years. I want to know how bad it could possibly be...

The most embarrassing thing that happened to me in an interview is that when I opened my mouth to speak my mouth was so dry I could  not pry it open.  I could not speak; not even a little!

This was a job interview and I did a good job of selling myself, until then.  Obviously I did not get the job.

    Thanks for asking! smile

I hugged the interviewer when he said I had the job. Thankfully there are no takesies backsies!

Once, during an interview, I called the company I was interviewing for the wrong name.  And I did it twice.  The man giving me the interview seemed a little annoyed.  Whoops!  Needless to say I didn't get the job.

I didn`t know the answer to one of the questions they asked. Then they said I didn`t get it and I smased my shoe on the interviewers face .

As I spoke, spit flew out of my mouth onto the interviewers desk- I got the job, and won her as a friend.

Sue, Pixienot, Patty, Ashantina, SarahMarie, Edoka, Thanks for the great answers - the interview went OK, but it opened with the much youger interviewer saying, "I think you should be interviewing me."
It didn't help that he was right...
But no farting, spitting, sticky mouth, hugging, using the wrong name or belching, so all in all, a win, right?

When the interviewer and HR staff told me that I did not meet the minimum requirement for the position I am applying for. I was thinking, "Why did you tell me to come for an interview, if on the first place you have read my CV and it didn't meet your requirement?"

Then after a week, I receive a call from this company for a second interview.
This time with the OWNER of the company.
    Confusing right????
