I believe the skills that are most in demand are good leadership with excellent communication skills. Taking a look at the general work force in the respect of a ladder, those managers on higher rungs seem to hire incompetent people below them in order to secure their position. In the past, a person worked hard hoping to get a promotion and move up the corporate ladder however with the mind set today that same person is a threat to their supervisor. So if that supervisor hires an incompetent person who isn't held accountable, that person will never be able to compete for their boss's position and providing a false sense of job security. I see this pattern across many different industries which is very sad for our country.
