Hurray, I Have Been Paid By Hubpages!!!
Earning Your First Paycheck from Hubpages
When I first registered I came across Hubpages and I read many articles written by people who claimed not to be paid by Hubpages. I think they gave up too easily. Then I read articles of people who made $300 to $1100 dollars a month. Testimonials are relative to the person as we are all unique individuals with unique earning potential.
We are as different as our hubs.
In The Beginning
What brings us to write on Hubpages is unique to us all. Death brought me to Hubpages which is rather ironic but I found a new life here and I appreciate that life. I found my voice here even if it is not always the most popular opinion but most of all I have found, that which I value the most, is the many good friends around the world which I adore and I am grateful to have in my life.
So when I started I just wrote, I wrote, and I wrote. After the death of my Mother I was quite shaken. I had a hard time putting a subject and a verb together to make a sentence let alone write an article. But I knew that I had to do something to find my new beginning. So I continued to write. I accepted criticism the best I could but admittedly I was very sensitive after my Mother’s death. So I probably didn’t take constructive criticism as well as I should.
But like religion, I continued to write. I took challenges and pushed myself beyond my comfort zone. Rebirth is a painful process and by no means is easy. I have the hubscore to prove it. But I appreciate that this is a living memorial to my Mother who is dead and also a diary of my recovery from death and my rebirth. It has been kindly suggested to start over with a new name so I can increase my hubscore but I can’t as this is my new beginning which all of you have witnessed. To abandon a rebirth is to lose sight I was reborn. There is a spiritual aspect of all of this for me as well.
And in the end I continued to write as it was my salvation.

The Challenges and The Contests
I have taken all the challenges. I know I did the 30 hubs in 30 days and the 100 hubs in 30 days challenge. But I had to keep being productive even when I was never quite certain I would get paid. It was a matter of faith.
I have only participated in one contest but I entered almost everyday if not everyday. It was the Patron of the Arts Contest. I loved this contest even though I didn’t win. The competition was fierce as Hubpages has many talented writers. But it is always important to write in contests with writers who are better then you. You learn from more skilled writers.
In December, I checked my earnings and I wasn’t quite there for my first paycheck but I was close. I am in the middle of several legal battles so I have not had the time to write like I use to. I have written over 500 hubs in less then a year. So it is okay to take a little break now and again from Hubpages and I am really excited as Hubpages as lead me back to my research. I have been involved in research since the one year anniversary of my Mother’s death. I am so excited about the results and I want to share them with all of you so badly but I have to switch hats and go back to technical writing and submit for publication. It is weird switching writing gears but I have range so I can do it. I just have to force myself and apply myself with everything I have within me. And when we are published I will share my work with all my HP buddies.
Tips For Writing On Line
I didn’t get involved with Hubpages for the money. I had read articles both ways about the money. But I joined to heal myself and to find my rebirth after my Mother’s death. And I have had difficulty with my paypal account particularly because I will not give them my bank account number. I am old school and I don’t believe in any financial transactions on line.
But then one day I straightened out my paypal account. Perhaps I should say I complied and gave them an account number which is safe and I received my first payday. Admittedly, I could have collected the money a lot earlier but my experience on Hubpages has been like many experiences in my life and not financially motivated. Don’t get me wrong it is nice to be paid and I hope to continue to earn while writing on Hubpages but I would like to put all those rumors to rest. Hubpages pays writers who continue to work and earn. And now I am to the point where in months I don’t publish I earn. Well I am not certain there is a month I haven’t published but I publish substantial less then I use to and I am still generating income.
But more importantly I feel like I have so many people who have helped me heal and be reborn after my Mother’s death and I am so grateful to all of them. I have a Hubpages family that extends beyond any border and has brought me back to life so I may go on and accomplish things.
The End is Only a New Beginning
In conclusion, Hubpages provided me a forum to heal, an extended family around the world, hours of wonderful reading very informative hubs by my pals and some entertaining ones as well and finally the almighty paycheck. And for this I am exceedingly grateful. So thank you to all my friends and to HubPages.
If I have any advice for my new friends on HP, it is write and keep writing and you will earn. Just keep working and your rewards will outweigh your work in time.
All My Best,
If I may add that I am still being paid and I have hardly written any new hubs. While it is my advice to keep writing the key to being great is to edit, edit and edit. I am involved in that process now. It is overwhelming because I have over 500 hubs that need revision but I am doing it a little bit at a time.
