You Can't Make Money Online on Your Own!

If there is one thing that I learned from dozens of Google algorithm updates is that you can't make money online ethically by being a lonely island. The reason I say ethically is because I have come across countless affiliate marketers that make small fortunes online, but they use questionable strategies. I know you want more info, right? Well, here's one case. A guy would use sites like Craigslist, redgage, twitter, any heavily used site and post a picture of a pretty girl. He would pose as this girl and get countless men to sign up on dating sites to contact him. He earned a lot of commissions. Then there were internet marketers that used black hat seo to game the serps. Meanwhile, their sites were garbage. I can go on and on.

How can I make money online the honest way?

If your goal is to be a blogging or affiliate marketing mogul you need loyal followers. You need an audience that will be loyal to you, even if Google betrays you. This is exactly what happened to John Chow several years ago. Google buried his page in the serps, but he earned tens of thousands of dollars that month by selling advertising on his blog. How was he able to achieve those type of sales? Advertisers were attracted to his loyal followers! Advertisers got their money's worth when they advertised on his site. How? His readers blogged about him, opened his email, read his feeds, bought products he recommended and retweeted his tweets. He still earns thousands of dollars a month through get paid to blog sites and paid tweets on twitter because of his large following!

Why does anyone need loyal followers?

Let me explain it like this. If a show doesn't have enough of an audience, it's canceled. Advertisers will not pay big bucks to promote products when no one is watching. If a radio show isn't popular, it's replaced. If a newspaper doesn't have readers and sell papers, they go out of business. See, everyone needs loyal readers or visitors or they will not succeed. Those same principles are at work at HubPages too. Yes, you can get traffic from search engines, but you may not get adsense clicks. Your fellow hubbers will help you increase your HubPages Ad Program earnings just by visiting your content. You need traffic from HubPages and search engines to make money!

Do you have proof that more followers on HubPages means increased earnings?

Glad that you asked. Below I created a chart using the statistics found on the success stories section of the HubPages blog. If you look at the chart, you will find 10 hubbers. Each one is earning a nice amount of monthly income. They also have a large following on HubPages.

What are the benefits of having a large audience?

There are several benefits to having loyal readers. Here are just a few perks:

  • you will always have many views immediately after publishing a quality hub (example-you have 1000 followers, 10% visit your hub after you publish = 100 views)
  • your readers will know you and trust your recommendations to buy products or join services (this is why internet marketers with large email lists earns $1000s in hours)
  • your readers will share your quality content using social media and email
  • your readers will blog about you
  • you will attract more readers because success attracts success
  • you will become an expert in your field
  • you will earn more money
  • advertisers will seek you out

How can I gain more readers?

If you want to gain more readers you should do the following:

  • write quality hubs
  • comment on other's hubs
  • follow other hubbers that publish great hubs
  • participate in the forums and help others
  • share great hubs by other hubbers on your favorite social media / bookmarking site
  • submit your own hubs to social bookmarking sites

Catching the attention of a successful person by appreciating their work is a great way to network. You know the truth about "reaping what you sow". If you plant roses, you will get a rose bush-not dandelions.

I hope that you found this information helpful. Enjoyed it? Share it by email, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest or your favorite social media site. Don't forget to subscribe to get more tips on how to make money on hubpages.
