   I like it.  I think it gives a more accurate assessment of a hub.  I try to be fair about the grammar and punctution, though.  Case in point, I just read a great hub where the word their was used instead of there.  It was an obvious oversight because the rest of the article was perfect.  I proofread my own stuff endless times and yet my sister often emails me with an error or two.  As far as substance, I like the idea because it helps eliminate spam hubs.  I think it would be helpful to be able to see the criticisms others make of my work, anonomously, of course.

   I don't like it that much.
   The idea to not see the writer is based on a good idea, but the hopper tool itself and the options to evaluate a hub were muc better in the previous hopper.
   I am not a judge, I don't want to appraise each hub - moreover not if I am not interested it. I loved to vote up, hit interestinf/funny/awesome on several hubs, but I simply do not want to spend minutes by using the new sliders.
   It is a good idea that hubpages wants to promote the best hubs and the best writers more in this way, but this slider is simply boring .

      I have to agree.  Even though I like the idea in theory, I don't hub hop nearly as much.   As she says, it's boring!

   I don't like it as it is not my job to evaluate other peoples work. If I choose to so fine but if I don't I should be able to have the option not to and just be indifferent.

   The old version of Hub hopping allowed us to click to the profile of the Hubber. This new version doesn't even show who the author is.
   
   I also discovered that the slide bars do not work on the Apple iPad. So I can only hub hop when I'm on my desktop computer.
   
   One final thing that I don't like is that we are forced to evaluate a hub before we can go on to the next. Sometimes the subject is not one of interest and it is best to be able to bypass it rather then judge something we are not interested in.

   I stopped hub hoppimg because of it. I don't have the time or the desire to evaluate every hub that I happen to land on. For every ten hubs that I normally hop. i frequently only read one. This new system will not allow me to do that. The new system is terrible.

   I can't see a way to actually "hop"? You can move onto the next one if you rate the current one, but you can't (or I can't see a way to) simply decide that you don't know enough to rate a hub and move onto the next one, which also means you have to read and rate (probably negatively) hubs that don't particularly interest you.
   
   As with so many updates, some bits are better, but for a lack of internal user testing, some bits are unnecessarily worse.

   I have a mixed reaction to it.
   
   On one hand, I do enjoy rating hubs because I am a former English teacher, and it reminds me of that.
   
   On the other hand, I don't think we should be rating each other's work that closely.

    I completely agree with Glen Stok.  The new hop feature is inadequate.  You can't skip one if you want to and you are forced to evaluate it just to move on. I can see where I (and others) might be tempted to give less than well-intended evaluations just in order to move on.  Aside from that, I really hate being forced to evaluation on grammar, substance, etc.  What is substance to some might not be to others.  We live in a diverse society where broken English is common and not necessarily considered poor grammar.  I liked the old style of hopping best.  Wished we could go back.  I've stopped using the feature now.
