   Would it be appropriate to say: A hubber score of 85 and a average hub score of 65 is a failure?
   
   I just do not know what is OK or not.

   I don't think so at all, Eric. I  pay no attention to scores as I don't think they reflect one's ability to write.  All the scores say is that you aren't playing the HP game the way the system is set up.  I've never won a Hub of the Day...have I failed here?  My score is only 91...what does that mean?  I have 450 hubs...should it be higher?  Concentrate on your writing and let HP concentrate on nonsense that has nothing to do with writing.

      I kind of hope more will respond in kind. I am very busy right now with writing for a living but I want to be creative and philosophical full time by your age  ;-)... I think I just look at the scores as if I am getting the coaches signals right.

   I once thought that the more active you were, the higher your score, but some participate a lot and have low scores. I try to ignore it too.

   Well, the problem is that you could have 85 and 65 today, but tomorrow you could see 97 and 89. I was looking at my numbers a short while ago and got a little downhearted, but I think we're just on a downtrend right now. Have some ice cream. It always makes me feel better!

      Mine has never been higher than 98. If you use your Hubber score as a benchmark for success, you're doing it for the wrong reasons, maybe? Also, don't forget the hot fudge, or at least chocolate chips!

      I agree, about wrong reasons. But I hoped HP would be a place with more indication of good writing. I can adjust to the format that is cool.

      I think feedback from comments is a better indication of success. These days, a Hub is a flop if it doesn't get tons of Google views, no matter how well written it is. I just write for me! And pass that ice cream!

   As long as the hub score and the gibber score is high enough to have your best work on google then I wouldn't worry about it very much. Failure is a really strong word. When it comes to writing, the failure is the person who never tries or never shares their work at all. Don't stress, just keep working on it.

   I've observed that hubberscore reflects participation and activity level, and hubs' individual scores reflect traffic. Low scores don't necessarily mean low quality, and they definitely don't indicate how much money a person makes each month from their hubs.  There are users with low scores making bank, that's for sure.
   
   Given that we can't really control the scores and their exact formula is kept a secret, I think it best to ignore them.

   Eric, when you hit a hubber score of -1 and all of your hub scores are -1 also, then we'll discuss the word "failure". Until then, don't worry about it. Just have fun! By the way, I am dieting right now, so please, please, please have some icecream for me too!

   I go through long periods of time when I am very busy and can't read articles, write articles, or comment.  I don't know how that affects my score.
