Should the non featured hubs be unpublished?

One of my favorite hub, published 10 months ago, which has received lot of appreciation, comments and views is notified by HP as non featured, due to not satisfying quality standards. My making changes and improvements did not help either. It is still receiving fair traffic. Should I get it unpublished? Though it will hurt a lot. This is my first experience, that
one of my hubs has been notified like that. Its average hub score is presently 72.

Do a bit more work on it to try and get it featured. Make sure you spelling and grammar are good. Check to make sure it has all the fancy features they think you need now. As long as it is getting good traffic, don't unpublish it unless you want to put it on another site.

Thanks Becky Katz, for your reply and advice. I still have red triangles on it. I will try again. Thanks!

Oh, one red triangle means your views are going up. Two means they are going up a lot. On the other side of the screen is a big H, with a black circle around it, it is featured. If it is an empty circle or half empty, then it is not featured.

Sadly, there is a red triangle, along the topic,  and an empty circle on the right. It is my first time, that one of my hubs has become unfeatured,  that's why. I hope it will get over soon.

Yes the recent change has brought these developments.  I too faced a similar situation for the first time. As you did, I too worked  to some extent but of no help and it still stands non featured.  Let's pray for the best.

It is better to get it featured as it will be in your profile page. I have some unfeatured hubs and am trying my best too. Good luck!

If you go to your profile page, and then down to the bottom of the page, there is an option to show unfeatured hubs. They will show on your profile page but not in searches. They need to be featured for that. Good luck.

I would suggest creating two accounts. One should be for income, and only featured hubs should be shown.

The other should be for whatever you want to say. Particularly, hubs on being a better hubber, poetry, fiction, personal statements, and also any hub that you just can't get featured on your other page, they all go here. And, in this hub account, you show all hubs, even the unfeatured ones.

By having two accounts, one focused on income, and the other focused on self-expression, we can maximize income and not feel the hurt of taking down stuff we care about that others really appreciate.

I plan to be doing this soon.

That's an interesting suggestion. Everything we write is not for making money. I have not made any money here. Many works are for self expression, and of course we want readers for that. I love the community, so don't want to leave.
      Thanks SidKemp!

I like that HubPages is being more particular about featured hubs. When I go to a particular article site like this, I want to read quality articles. By meeting certain standards, HubPages is forcing writers to do this. They, however, are very lenient compared to many other similar article sites. When I see awful articles with mis-spellings, bad grammar, or unorganized thoughts, I lose trust in the site. I'm not saying that your hub is not quality and shouldn't be featured as I have not read it. Maybe you can get another HubPages friend who is doing well to look over your hub and make some suggestions. That is what we are doing in the Apprenticeship program, and it seems to work well. There may be something they will catch that you didn't. wink

When we write a hub, it goes for quality assessment, then published. It must have gone through this one too, 10 months ago. Then what happened now! I am not averse to making improvements and keep on doing that to all my hubs. Thanks for suggestions!

    Thanks everyone for your answers!
I just wanted to share, that my 'unfeatured hub', got 'featured status' again. I did make certain changes, like changed the title and added a video.
Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement!
