Why is this hub scored so low?
This hub was originally in the low 80's. I made major changes to improve it, add better info, fix broken links, etc. I worked on it for like 2 days. I read that Google won't recognize my hubs or something if even 1 of them is below a 74. Well, after my tweaking, it's gone to a 73! I don't get it. Why is it so low? What is wrong with it? Any advice is welcome! Thank you in advance! http://misslong123.hubpages.com/hub/Pro … ting-Fired
I think the Hub looks alright. Some of mine no matter what I do never get a high score; I think the subject matter is not search engine friendly on some of mine. As far as score goes, if your Hubber (Author) score (not Hub score) drops below 85, then your outbound links are no-follow. But Google still sees you and indexes you, it's just out-bound links don't count in the indexing and ranking. It used to be Hub (article) scores had to be at least 45 to get a do-follow on outbound links, but I don't know if that's still the case.
That is comforting - that you are in the same boat at times. I'm glad to know the Hubber score information vs. the Hub score information. None of mine are close to 45 - they are all 73 or above. Thank you for your wisdom.
Scores change up and down all of the time, they do not stay in one place. Usually when you edit/upgrade a Hub it has to be evaluated again to check out the new text, etc., which was added. They have to make sure spelling, grammar, etc. as usual and check the link and photo sites to make sure they are okay. I just wrote a Hub about Hub Scores.

I'm glad you said that. It made me feel better. It's still be a couple days, but I'm going to wait a few days before revisiting it again - give Hubpages a chance to reread it. If they still deem it to be a 73, I will tweak it again. Thank you!
I didn't visit the hub but the title stands out to me as problematic. Did you tweak it or has it always been that title? Think about what someone who thinks he's about to get fired would search for; I don't think they would use the words, "properly" or possibility." Try this: "Getting Fired: How to Prepare for Losing My Job."
As NateB11 has experienced, this may not be a topic a lot of people search for; it's usually after-the-fact that they might search for other employment or info on taking legal action against an employer. Good luck, misslong123.
Good idea, about the title. Title is important, determines whether an article will be found on the web, whether it is something someone will type into the search engine. Changing a title can do a lot for traffic.
Thank you so much for your help. I will look into keywords and the title. Very helpful! Thanks janshares!
I've found this table very helpful in raising my scores.

Great Matthew! I will definitely check that table out! Thank you. Michele
I have read that people on here believe its on that particular hub not your entire set of hubs. Hope not.
The below 75 thing is apparently that magic number where your hub is put as a do not follow. Also Google takes the recommendation from hubpages on the quality from the hubscore.
I went through and done some tweaking too. Good luck.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. That is very helpful. Good luck with your tweaking as well.
Your hub has good information, but here is what stood out to me. You have way too many links in the link section and it goes on and on. Instead, take a few relevant links and place in a sidebar.
You use a lot of bulleted lists and short paragraphs which are great - but should not be so prevalent that the majority of your hub looks like lists instead of an article.
Those are the only two things that really stood out to me.
Thank you so much. I knew by the word count that it was too long, but I wasn't sure where to get rid of information. I am so very thankful that you responded to this question with relevant answers that will greatly help me. Thank You!! Michele

So, I've had a hub unpublished due to HP claiming that it's overly promotional. The hub only has 2 outbound links ( which is the number of links we're allowed to put for the other external sites ) this is the only thing that I'm having in my hub. There is also NO amazon products or Ebay or...

If this is not the correct place to ask my questions, please let me know where to go on HubPages, or if I should send an email to the people running HubPages.A few months ago an expert hubber with lots of experience and success for a time offered free critiques of hubs in one of the forums. I asked...

"John Mueller said that external links, links on your web site that point to outside web sites (or outbound links) are not a ranking signal. Just to be clear, links are a ranking factor - but you linking out to other sites doesn't help you rank better. He said the content you use for the link...

When I first signed on to Hubpages, I noticed this forum and was planning on posting here to get some feedback. I got sucked into writing and forgot. So, 18 Hubs later, I'd like to get a sense of what people think. Here is a Hub I recently re-vamped as it was one of my lowest...

I've got the "Overly Promotional" red skull of doom on my top trafficked hub.Naturally it was the first one I edited. The affiliate links and "overly promotional" warnings at the top of the hub went away in the workshop. I republished it last night, and it's still published...
