Looking down my list of traffic sources I have two search sites (avg and comcast) that each say "-1" views over the last 24 hours. What in the world does that mean?
I assumed it's a stats glitch or something. Otherwise my traffic looks normal for a Tuesday. Is this anything I should be worried about? Anybody else seeing it in their stats?
Maybe two people read my Hubs and demanded their views back.
How is your stats page looking now? Mine has weird sources that show over 1M views while normal sources like hubpages and google, bing, yahoo show negatives. My hubpages views say -25 views? Must be a bug----anyone else?
Mine too. I got one source that has 206 million views in the last 24 hours. Since I'm quite sure that that was not going into my hubs (unfortunately), then it's got to be a bug.
Everything is gone goofy now. When I posted this the other day the two sites with weird numbers were legitimate sites. I see all kinds of strange things in there now
The in-house stats are so basic, sometimes they get buggy. You'll get more accurate info and real-time updating if you use Analytics.
I'm wondering if the site is being messed with by outsiders again...
Never seen any of those domains before.
Some of the above domains are tacky or foreign language, but no malware reports.
Yep me too, I have got the weirdest sites with millions of views! I wish!
I think someone's IP address locator/pointer thingy burped. As to the numbers, I've said it before, don't divide by zero...
Okay, well I'm not the only one then....sorry, it is nice to have company, though. Thanks for showing up. Yea, Nell Rose some really odd sites. I'll report the bug to the other thread if it has not already been reported. It is so strange seeing all those numbers.
Another thread about the same thing here: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/102372
This is the weirdest glitch ever. The websites the "negative" traffic is from almost makes it see, like the site has been hacked. They are really weird sites... like savethehumans. com...
As I posted in the other thread, several of these erroneous links will take you to pornography sites such as ignatzmice.com. I hope someone will look into this problem before we all loose our Adsense accounts for fradulent activity.
Oh yeah same here, views in the negative billions! Jeez people, can't take back views you've never give me
Well about a week ago, stats were not changing, so now we have some changes.
Mine are all off the wall as well. But.... I am sure it will not have a negative impact on the world as we know it....one would hope!
Luckily, mine is normal. Hope yours will be back to normal soon.
Mine statistics are way out of line. I didn't go to the domain, but there is definitely something going on.
ohhhhh mine too some funtonbed site with zillions of views! I came in forums to see if there was a post, thought it was weird!
My traffic stats seem to be accurate but when I look at sources there are four weird ones; two in the millions and two in the billions. One is a stumble upon account about all things marijuana. Which of my articles are the weed afficionados reading? The one about stay at home moms? Volleyball tryouts? Or, ya, I know--the how to set parenting goals article. Sheesh. Whatta bug!
I've got a reading of minus 1,800,000 from "hot porn clips and more dot com." I'm gratified that so many users from that site are enjoying my heavy metal and horror film reviews.
All these sites are trying to get free backlinks from ours, pity we can't just delete them
What happened to my millions and billions of page views? Now all I see is my usual statistics display which, sad to say, doesn't quite make it to even a million page views.
My traffic is crazy - this is nuts!
I don't believe it so I had to share a photo - look I even have negative traffic!
No wonder my earnings have plummeted.
My list looks similar albeit not as long - will the negatives hurt my earnings?
When can we expect it to be fixed?
It's happening again? It went crazy for me a few days ago and it was fixed. I just checked and the stats are still normal for me.
Hours ago, when signing in to Hubpages I got an alert from my virus protection program that I was being re-directed to another site...pretending to be Hubpages. The program warned me not to continue.
Needless to say, I closed the browser and did not proceed. As far as I know, having weird numbers is a sign that all is not okay and that could be why we get those Google penalties!
It could be spamming activity being carried on by another site? Just a thought. My numbers have dropped somewhat, but nothing startling.
Any answers from Staff?
A -number means that the user(s) was so annoyed and yes, embarrassed. about reading your hub that they petitioned HP themselves to have the view erased and all records of it erased from the logs to prevent further embarrassment.
Just kidding, it's probably an adjustment to remove spammer hits
A day or two earlier you probably received a few hits from spam IPs, now they are removing those hits thus the -1.
Nothing to worry about, in the end it all evens out to what it should be.
Well my negatives are gone but Google no longer loves me - dropped probably 90%. Oh, my what a roller coaster ride this has been. Will have to go to plan B.

Hi, I have noticed that for a few days now, while the traffic stats are updating, our traffic sources are not. Has anyone else noticed this too?

I have been posting links to my hubs on Quora for a few weeks now. Although my post has "views" on quora, I can't see Quora listed under "Traffic sources" in my Hubpages stats. Any idea, why this would happen? Thanks for time.

Ever since the switch to subdomains, I have seen specific subdomain names listed on the traffic stats for individual Hubs; and on the Traffic Sources Page, the numbers for HubPages have seemed to decline (understandably). Recently, I have seen higher numbers for HubPages.com, and I don't...

I just checked my traffic sources page and this is what I saw:Anyone else seeing this? It's a bit unnerving lol all the numbers at the top are completely absurd and are negative.

I'm pretty new around here. When I look at my traffic sources sometimes it says Google, which sounds really cool, like as if people are finding my hubs from a Google search. However none of my hubs are anywhere near the first page of search results, or anywhere the second or third page for that...

My traffic sources is showing Hubpages, Google, Yahoo, etc but does not show my web site, which I am sure is active and bouncing visitors back to my articles on Hubpages. Any idea why it does not show up?
